By pigeon holing people into these Stereotypical categories you yourself are fulfilling a stereotype. Stop being sensible. Its all good being sensible - and I agree. Glenn's post's have valid points just as I feel mostly. I just don't need it to be shoved down my throat - been made out were "polluters" not being so green minded yaddayaddayadda over the years. I/we'd all love the great solution/s but I didn't need it to hit my/your hip pockets without things not really validated/tried and tested before coming to market. FFS its all been smokes and mirrors finger pointing, accusations....thats what the problem is coming from the green/lab/indendants/individuals purely for grandstanding most times to gain the higher ground. I'm all for reducing anything that can help for the future but most times its their own agenda beating up xyz not for the better of man kind - spare me, most types in gov today are bloody useless........heck even our own tax payer funded tv channel gets away with constant crap on the grounds of freedom of speech - what a load of bollocks. An embarrassment to most australians no matter what team you think you bat for. Edited by M.L.: 26/6/2015 04:45:58 PM

By pigeon holing people into these Stereotypical categories you yourself are fulfilling a stereotype. They can be unlabelled, but it's funny how people conform to groups/stereotypes. I'm 4 years out of university and the types are easily recognisable from my university days and even more now professionally. I dislike the total lack of common sense on issues like this. Take away the label and instead of calling them lefties/greenies/hippes i'll call them uneducated idiots. With this issue they read a few blogs written by people who don't even know how a drill rig works and are experts. It's like me reading a blog on vaccines and then protesting that vaccinations cause autism.

By pigeon holing people into these Stereotypical categories you yourself are fulfilling a stereotype. Stop being sensible. Go and find 1000 people who want wind turbines (I like the idea of them) and ask them which metal makes their magnets. I'll buy you a carton if you can find 10 who know the answer.

They are manipulated by NGOs and advertising to be distracted by non-issues whilst ignoring the real ones. They believe in this myth that CO2/water vapor from chimneys are going to kill them and destroy the planet whilst completely ignoring genuine pollution such as that typically created in China to mine the raw materials for their precious windmills

By pigeon holing people into these Stereotypical categories you yourself are fulfilling a stereotype. Stop being sensible. It's human nature to label yourself and everyone else. It's why people form social groups, political parties, cities, nations etc. People that think they're different are seriously deluded. Another human trait is to fear change so I understand (enjoy even) the last couple of pages of circular jerking. In summation, what you said is reasonable but it's pointless being critical of what they post. Best to embrace it for what it is.

I know your carton would be safe! I'm all for education and facts. Those magnets are dangerous and China is fucking shit up by producing them. I think money needs to spent on designing better coal plants and better alternatives. Hell I would love if some Boffin could unlock nuclear fusion, even though I'm aware it would require the 'fuel' to be mined. Innovation never happened with an all or nothing approach.

The fuel itself would just be hydrogen it wouldn't need to be "mined" in a traditional sense. It'd be hard to believe a first gen fusion reaction wouldn't use any sort of rare earth metals or other environmentally damaging materials. In fact I'd be surprised if there weren't any of these sorts of materials being used in coal power plants.

My twitter feed (slanted towards the lefties  ) is beating this story up, people- who are not necessarily homophobic or are against the issue; more of people who have had a chance to clear their minds and think properly have pointed out that 0.08% of the population is same sex Regardless; because this will win the argument, SCIENCE (the opponent of Religion), you cannot procreate/ reproduce without the cells of a male and a female cell. _ It doesnt matter if there is marriage or not (same sex, or even hetero) :-k

Accurate summation. It was never anything but an equal rights issue. It will still be an equal rights issue long after this. Of all the pro equal rights messages people made on social media the one that really shit me was the "Kim Kardashians marriage lasted 8 days. Neil Patrick Harris has been with his partner 8 YEARS." Oh I see, gay marriages are built on love and there will never be gay divorces??!!??? But despite morons, congratulations America

The 0.08% of the population part is absolutely false. The rest of it might have been factual but it's used to support the fallacy that the only purpose for marriage is for reproduction. Well at least that's how I read it, Condemned666's posts fascinate me because they're all so obtuse. I think I'd enjoy sitting down and having a beer with him  Edited by mcjules: 27/6/2015 12:21:37 PM

Maybe I misread him, but I took it as he was saying it was ridiculous to claim marriage is reserved only for those who can have children. It has been one of the main arguments for those that oppose equality.

All of your rights and your nations sovereignty are about to be swept away by the TPP... but hey at least gays can get married, because that's clearly the more important issue.
Just look at the past week FFS:
- Dylan Roof and subsequent Confederate flag banning - Gay marriage passed
Both received massive amounts of media support, yet not a peep about the TPP.
Bread and circuses.
