You wait until the government deems it defamatory to criticise the government. There are many countries in the world where criticism of the government is a crime. This could happen anywhere. Criticism of anything/anyone shouldn't be a crime.

I'm going to assume that it's similar on the continent, but at least in the UK, these so called sharia courts are nothing other than an alternative form of independent mediation where both parties must agree to participate and any ruling must not contradict UK law. As for the uni student thing at my time at uni we always had the hipsters and the hippies complaining about something the government was doing and demanding shit from someone.
