That's the question I guess though, how is a book that has less and less (subjective?) literal meaning and more and more interpretational spin these days the inspired word of God? Is that even a common belief these days that the bible is the infallible word of God?

After you have put your own spin on the bible, (especially after the cut and pasted new testament) are you really follow a religion or do you just need a book of moral codes to help guide you. Does the "god" that inspired the bible now have no real relevance to the reader????

That's the basis of having a belief system... What is wrong is forcing your reasoning on those who don't care or don't want to listen.

What ever happend to beliving in the good in people before judging them? Also the reclaim australia brisbane group has disassociated themselves from r a and now has joined up with the upf. Who are a neo nazi group. What annoys me is people trying to make a religious issue into a racial one. It has nothing to do with skin colour or background and has everything to do with the belief structures of a religion that in many cases directly opposes core anglo saxon values if adhered to strictly. People see half a dozen neo-nazis and the first thing that pops into their head is racist. It's an easy association to make. Maybe I expect too much from reclaim assuming that their concerns are genuinely about Islam. Maybe I'm wrong and they're trying to masktheir racism with bigotry. People also jump to the bigot label as well. In this case reclaim is an absolute joke and I do not support them even slightly. These people obviously have insecurities and need to blame someone else for their life sucking. However, I see too many people these days reacting to any sort of criticism of particularly the Islamic religion with bigot, educate yourself etc etc. Criticism of Islam now haws the tag islamophobe which I feel stops people from learning about the religion because any objective criticism is met with this horrible little tag. How the hell can you learn if you can't ask certain questions? A friend of mine is as moderate as they come as a muslim and even he gets all defensive when I ask him certain things. Whilst you're right it simply can't be denied that many,if not most religions are heavily linked with a perticular race or people group. Now obviously that's not an excuse to assume that all Indians are Hindus or Arabs Muslims, but there is a large cross over. I know what you're saying but I bet there are more Muslims in SE Asia than in the middle east. And probably more in Africa too. Also, ouch at your new sig. Poor Mauk.

Yeah, i was pretty ambivalent to this issue. All polies do it. Then I saw a nice little graph on the SMH of her use of funds spanning the years compared to Tones and hockey. She was spending a hell of a lot compared to them as a junior minister. She has a history of this and really should have been stamped out 15 years ago.

With so much debt, how on earth can anyone justify a helicopter ride?
I think the government needs a mandate to overhaul ridiculous spending. How can we afford to pay these parasites 800k a year when we can't even keep some of our citizens above the poverty line? What a joke.

Don't worry they will be a 1 term goverment. QLD buget is one of the biggest jokes i've seen in awhile. But I do fear QLD will be 1 term governments for a little while. The moving of the debt to the state assets are just a time bomb to go off when the other mob gets in, because it literally do nothing for the bottom line.

Only the Greens are social democrats. And even then, that's barely socialist. Any actual socialist is insulted by being called a social democrat.

Draupnir wrote::lol: Embarrassing that you think they are socialist. Socialism - the idea of sharing ie. taxes collected by wage earners are redistributed to make up the shortfall in health spending. It's a somewhat socialist policy. Maybe I should have been more clear. In this instance only a small percentage are expected to make up the shortfall instead of everyone.
