Tone made a good point in his speech. Said if Australia is to get beyond the revolving door leadership the media should stop printing rubbish that blokes haven't got the balls to put their name to. Happened to Rudd, happened to Tone. Pretty good idea IMO. Won't happen but a good idea.

Won't happen but a good idea. Highly ironic. Abbott was against media reform. His party's biggest mouthpiece is, well.......

Now, can we have a system where we can choose our leader/ head of state? Add new flag to that list. Have we ever had 2 republicans as leader and opposition leader? Might be the only good thing if Turnbull wins the next election as he'd likely be turfed out if they lose and something as open for debate as this issue won't be raised before it. Won't happen but a good idea. Turnbull will win the next election then he'll be ousted during the term and the revolving door will continue until the system is changed. Howard faced poor polls all throughout his prime-ministership but the Liberals never panicked and he usually prevailed. Those days are gone I reckon.

He had a booming economy that he could use to buy elections through sweeteners (and fuck up the economy for the next through)

Regardless of political allegiance or wether this was the right call or not, its pretty sad that Australian politics has been reduced to this poll-driven circus. We've now had a PM ousted in the last 3 terms of federal government. What a joke.

He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Biggest and most wasteful PM this country has had in regards to spending. Apparently they're the "economics" party, even despite this and that over their last two terms the fact that their current treasurer has absolutely no qualifications within the financial and economics sectors. Statistically worse than the McMahon, Rudd and Gillard governments Very interesting. A reflection on the government's incompetence & laziness. It might also be a cautionary tale that Australia rejects the more extreme right wing.
