I'm happy to have Zapata, I'm happy for the Gunners to have Samba or Cahill. All good players.
Just as long as no other clubs get their grubby mitts on any of them. ;)

So Luka Modric has expressed his desire to leave Sp*rs, but only if a club comes in with an offer that Sp*rs feel is adequate. He won't be handing in a transfer request because he wants to leave on good terms. He also said he'd like to stay in London at a team that's playing in the Champions League, so Chelsea really is the only option.

It's hard to say when we don't know why he failed the physical.

It really is incredibly stupid on a 5 year deal with some pretty hefty wages. Hope Ashley is considering investing in some new physios.

Yeah, a 5 year deal for a guy who's never played out of France is a big risk. I really don't think he's that good anyway. Another stock standard Newcastle signing.

According to Marveaux he didn't fail the medical: Quote:Reports emerged on Friday that Marveaux had failed his medical at Anfield, but he confirmed this was not the case.
“I do not want to go into details, but if I did not sign in Liverpool, because there was a contractual disagreement between the parties Thursday night,” he confirmed to L’Equipe Can't say I know a whole lot about him but I remain optimistic. Vive la toon!

Yeah, it may have just been a contract thing. But I'm surprised if we wouldn't pay him what he wanted that you lot would.

Sign Marveaux on a 5 year deal, despite failing his medical, having missed most of last season with injury - AND most of the season 2 years ago with another injury... Yet sell your captain, an established solid performing Premier League player (and Englishman), because he asked for a 5 year deal... Lacks a certain degree of logic, to me.

Alexis Sanchez will reportedly be in Barcelona on Monday to sign a contract. He apparently has rejected higher wages at Man Utd and Man City to sign for Barcelona.
Marouane Fellaini has said he will have to move on from Everton because he wants to be playing Champions League football.

Demba Ba failed a medical at Stoke and yet was terrific for the Hammers. You never know until they start playing i guess.

Yes, but Ba, as far as I know, doesn't have a history of being seriously injury prone like Marveaux has. Played only 10 games last season and only 5 in the 08-09 season. He's only cracked 30 games in a season once.

I mean, it's come to be expected that they sign one good player and four duds eveyr window. They've already signed Cabaye, so now it's just keeping up the dud quota. sydneycroatia58 wrote:Sorry, only cracked 30 league games in a season once  To be fair on the lad, he did manage 28 games in his debut season with Rennes, which is a decent effort for a 20 year old. That said, it took him until 20 to break through from the Rennes academy... I just look at the pictures of him wearing a baseball cap like the one on his wiki page and the voice in my head goes "You're a tool. You're a tool. You're a tool, tool, tool, tool, tool, tool. You're a fucking tool."
