If Heart is worth $11m, surely WSW are worth more than $15m?

Me and 7 other mates bought acl memberships yesterday. Do we know how many ACL memberships have been sold so far?

Adelaide sold out Hindmarsh a few times during their run. But from memory that was in the knockout stages.

Pr1mo wrote:If Heart is worth $11m, surely WSW are worth more than $15m? How do you work that out? Wanderers average 15k people per game in a 19.5k capacity stadium, so their potential to make more revenue is getting an extra 4.5k people per game. Which is great. But now let's look at Heart's potential. They average 9-10k people per game including derbies, and about 7k without. They play at AAMI Park, which holds 29-30k people. So their potential if run well, is an extra 20k people per week. That's a huge potential, this is why Man City were happy to pay $11m for them! On the flipside, if I was trying to buy WSW, and the Heart just got sold for $11m, I'd be trying to buy the Wanderers for $8m-$9m. Because as shown by the numbers, they're already running at almost full capacity, the potential to make more money than they currently do, is much lower, unless they can expand their stadium or move to a bigger venue.

WSW is devalued as well because the FFA don't want to keep the ownership.

Potential to earn money isn't just in seats sold. Its been mentioned heaps of times how many jerseys WSW have sold over the past 18 months. 90% of those that attend matches have a jersey and want more merch. This is where you can earn $$$ with WSW. Get a proper merch machine running and the fans will lap it up.
Also $$$ is earned with Sponsorship etc aswell. Success breeds $$$ from outside sources. Qualifying regularly for ACL brings global awareness of your club.
Its more than merely filling your stadium every week.
And Parra is slowly getting upgraded. It will end up ~30k eventually.

I did some calculations of Wanderers anticipated revenue for this season based on numbers released from time to time in the media. Membership - Gate Takings.Adelaide United released a summary of last seasons revenue and income from these two sources worked out to be $15 per head when calculated using total attendance at their games during the season. Melbourne Victory worked out to be $21.66 per head. Our membership prices are at lower end for the League so using the $15 per head figure and anticipated total attendance of 200,000 gives a total of $3m. To this revenue from home ACL games needs to be added. Assuming average attendance of 11,111 at $15 per head gives another $0.5m. Total from Membership and Gate Takings = say $3.5m MerchandiseMerchandise sales for our first season were predicted to be $300k but reached $1.8m. Early sales resulted in a prediction that the total would exceed $2m this year. http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/nsw/western-sydney-wanderers-leave-nrl-for-dead-in-sales-and-membership/story-fni0cx12-1226771396553Total from Merchandise = say $2m. Sponsorship and Corporate SupportThe same article indicated that support from the corporate sector has risen 140% this season and would exceed $4m. The article was written long before Visy was signed as sponsor for the ACL. Total from the Corporate Sector = say $4m. Distribution from the FFATotal from the FFA = $2.5m Grand Total = say $12m This would put us second behind Melbourne Victory who last season totalled $14.5m in revenue.

And Parra is slowly getting upgraded. It will end up ~30k eventually. I get that but at this stage of the A-league the single biggest revenue potential for all the clubs is still selling tickets. Selling jerseys and sponsorship is also up there, but we're nowhere near where the AFL/NRL are in terms of sponsorship just yet. This is why I say Heart has more potential right now, with way more room to grow, and they can do that next season with a large stadium ready to go. The Man City factor should also get them more sponsorship, members and fans, and they should also sell more shirts. Wanderers really need an urgent upgrade to Parramatta Stadium, if they can get an extra 4000-5000 seats for next season that's a win-win!

An extra 4-5k seats at Parra would be brilliant. Cracking that 20k membership number should be a priority. It'll be great to see another A-League club in the black, especially a new one at that.

WSWFC need to work on the members who don't go to EVERY home game, by setting up a system whereby if you are not attending you log on or call the club and tell them and they resell your seat, there has been talk about it.....as it is i have probably 20-30 people at me about my 4 ticket yearly pass and they constantly badger me to get their hands on them, some even offer me cash to get ahead of others, and i only miss 1 maybe 2 home games due to family committments

WSW play in the largest football heartland (football particitpation/%50Socceroos from western Sydney). Pirtek stadium being upgraded to 24-25k next year. I would say you are dreaming if you think Melbourne heart have more potential then the WSW.....](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

I guess on Monday we will find out the details of the sale. Well that is the proposed announcement date anyway. As for the potential of Wanderers, well it has to be said that WSW has a greater potential than Melbourne City, however some of the future potential will depend on stadium upgrades. I would expect that if we get the proposed 32K upgrade that the growth potential would be huge. The only thing that gives Melbourne City a great potential is that the brand is damaged, the crowds are low and the facilities are non existent. What this means is that the brand can be totally rebuilt and virtually everything can be rebuilt and changed. With WSW this just isn't possible, the damage that would be done to the club if the brand was in anyway changed would be irreversible.

Troll is shit troll... You think Australia's fastest ever growing football team is worth less than one of our worst based on on the fact that the stadium isn't as big as the one in the south. Its already being expanded you clown. WSW actually have a supporter base. Heart do not. There is more to a teams value than their stadium size. Based on your logic MVFC are probably worth as much as Spurs... Yeah, good one

Woh, this thread hasn't seen a post for a while - surprised, given the ACL games and the post-season departures/change?
Anyway, slight bump because in seeing the new Melb City unveiled with Villa confirmed as a Guest stint, along with City's other shrewd recruiting, combined with the continuing upward trending in fortune for the likes of Victory, SFC, AU, Mariners etc... the upcoming season looks like it could be as competitive as ever, killer even. The challenge is back on for Wanderers and Roar. Your team have lost a number of strong performers from the team, including three VISA stars. Popa clearly has a plan though and with the level of recruitment elsewhere in the league combined with the quality of Wanderer's departures - the onus is on Popa big time to pull some quality from out the hat.
Will be interesting to see who he announces, including if Wanderers, under the new ownership, plump for a Marquee again? :-k
Edit: Better? :p Thoughts? Any speculation or rumours about who Popa has lined up? Or has it all been on-hold due to ownership transfer?
