Swansea have agreed a fee with Celtic for South Korea midfielder Ki Sung-yueng.

Celtic assistant manager Johan Mjallby revealed earlier on Monday that Ki was poised to leave Celtic after entering talks with a mystery club.

Swansea are understood to be the team in question and they are believed to have settled on a fee in the region of £5million.

Swans boss Michael Laudrup is keen to bring Ki to the Liberty Stadium after seeing Joe Allen leave for Liverpool earlier this summer.

A number of other clubs are thought to be chasing his services, but the Premier League side are in pole position to land the classy playmaker.

Skysports

Disappointed to see him go, but 5m is a good fee.

The difference is, of course, that none of those players you mentioned have been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City for the past 2 summers.

You'd hope for some rudiments of player loyalty though. Especially with todays wages.

Daniel Sturridge is a classy player, the sort that Liverpool need; he'll do well there. The problem is that Liverpool will probably pay well over the odds for him.

Christian Poulsen has signed for Ajax on a 2-year deal.

Quote:
Ajax are set to sign Danish midfielder Christian Poulsen subject to the player passing a medical at Amsterdam ArenA.

The Dutch giants announced on their official website that they had reached an agreement with the experienced midfielder.

The 32-year-old is set to sign a two-year deal with the club and will immediately become the oldest player in Frank de Boer’s squad.

Poulsen arrives to Amsterdam as a free agent, after his contract with Evian Thonon Gaillard expired in June.

“We are very pleased with his choice to come and play with Ajax, for he could have gone to several clubs in Europe,” Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars said to club’s official website.

“He is a leader, both on and off the field, and that can help our young group of players.”

The Eredivise giants have been a bit short on experience after Vurnon Anita, Jan Vertonghen and Dmitri Bulykin all left the club this summer, which is one of the reasons why Poulsen was drafted into the squad.

The experienced midfielder has played in all five top European leagues, having enjoyed spells with Schalke, Sevilla, Juventus, Liverpool and Evian.

Poulsen has amassed a total of 92 appearances for Denmark national team, and has scored 6 goals in the process.
