The best part about this season has been the lack of Bran.

And Rickon is still out there. He goes missing for about 3 books too :lol: (actually, he is still currently awol).

The only storyline in that pic is The Brotherhood Without Banners that is abandoned. And without LS, its rather pointless

Ive not read any of the books, and can see from these comments and others around the web that some characters are taking very different paths.
But I am curious of GRRM's input into the current season and beyond.
Is he giving the producers a basic game plan to follow. Surely he has outlined the major plot elements for next season and then is it just up to the writers to fill the blanks in.

Or is the show going to go its own way???

Was that Ser Beric and his men? The one that had died 7 times and was giving the Lannisters hell during the Clash of Kings?

Here's how I think Thoros and Beric could come back into the fold (obviously major spoilers below).

[spoiler]Thoros revives Sandor Like he did to Beric. Remember, he doesn't have an onscreen death and we don't know for certain what happened to his body if he died. Meanwhile, that guy in Kings Landing heals the Gregor to become undead-Mountain. Remember when that bloke said to Cersei that "his work" could be an avenue to get her out of her predicament? His work (I'm hypothesising) is his healing of the Mountain. He could be her champion, and Sandor could come back and fight him because

a) he hates the Lannisters
b) he hates Gregor

Revived Hound vs. Zombie Mountain

Cleganebowl for Cersei's innocence.[/spoiler]

There have once again been leaks that contain seriously major spoilers for the final episode. I would stick away from social media or anything game of thrones related until you actually watch it guys.

The Red Woman will almost certainly revive him IMO.

True. I don't doubt her visions I think she just got it wrong when she saw Stannis, the way she's been eyeing Jon off sort of suggests she sees his potential.

Obviously the show runners and Kit Harrington himself have played down the talk of a revival, with Kit being quite insistent that he won't be returning next season, but the key thing there for me is that he says next season. I think they might do a "Bran" and drop the wall from the next season considering the only points of interest audiences had from the Nights Watch (Jon & Sam) are no longer around, plus with Bran set to return next season he'll provide us with the perspective beyond the wall.

If all the rumours about Jon's true identity are correct as they seem to be then he should have an important part to play at the end when Westeros is under attack from the White Walkers and their army of the undead, but until then there's not really much more for him to do IMO. Plus having him die and then be resurrected releases him from his oath to the Nights Watch so he can be freed up to be an important player.
