Also, are we really supposed to believe that in all this time Davos is still completely oblivious about what happened to Shireen??? That is some bullshit. Davos is 100% not oblivious. The ending shot was essentially him starting at The Red Woman so some shit is going to go down.

My point was how could he have not known (or at least asked) in all the time before he found the toy at the spot where she was burned

Also correct me if I'm wrong but is that the giants done? Could have sworn it was mentioned that Wun Wun was the last of his kind.

The director made is as obvious as possible to show that no matter what, nothing could hurt him.

IIRC, 3 giants have been in the show, the two under mance, who mance says one is the last of a royal bloodline, they both die at Castle Black, and the 1 from Hardhome. Can their be a giant who doesnt fucking die.
That Phalanx-eqsue shield formation was epic.
IGN gave the ep a 10.
I still think Littlefinger is gonna fuck the Starks up.

Draupnir wrote:I'll rewatch the episode tomorrow. I really liked how they went for a gritty feeling with the combat. I'm pretty into combat, especially medieval combat, and a lot of it is so over the top as expected for a fantasy piece and that was no different today, but fucking hell they got the misery and battlefield conditions down pretty well at a lot of points.
Now all that's really left for this season is for Brienne to reveal that Stannis is still alive. Sad to see Ramsay gone. I love that cunt. Agree 100%, my thoughts during it were holy fuck war is terrible. That Stampede over Jon was spot on too.

Did anyone else catch Tyrion's foreshadowing regarding the wildfire? KL is gonna go up in flames next ep I think.
Logical inconsistencies inside, I enjoyed that episode. It was VERY well directed - that long shot of Jon ducking in and out of combat was intense. The cavalry charge impact was also brutal.
Wouldn't go far as to say it's the best we've seen in the show, I'd rate Hardhome better (incidentally directed by the same guy, who thankfully seems to be very adept at the long take).

Everything this season has been predictable. Ramsay died too easily and too stupidly.

SocaWho wrote:Aljay wrote:Not real happy to see the Blackfish die after just being brought back. I really would much rather have seen him escape Riverrun and join Jon and Sansa as a tough guy warrior on their side.
However, what's going on with Edmure? How did he turn in such a short space of time and what's his long plan? Being told his heir is going to be catapulted over the walls of riverrun might have done the trick to turn Edmure. I think it makes sense for Edmure to give in...considering the Blackfish didn't give a shit if he died or not. I reckon Blackfish treated Edmure pretty harshly over the course of the series....I mean he heeded the advice of Robb who turned out to be a massive disaster when it came to logic and leadership the only fuck up Edmure ever did was going against Robb when capturing that stone mill Edited by Socawho: 17/6/2016 11:08:56 AM That was just another example of Robb holding everyone else to a higher standard than himself and blaming others for his mistakes. He wanted to draw the Mountain out but didn't tell Edmure of his plan or desired endstate and got sad because Edmure lacked the psychic abilities to know what he wanted. Give clear orders with a well defined mission, purpose, method and endstate and these problems will be avoided. Deserved the red wedding for that alone.

That was basically a moment of 'dear reader, just reminding you that there's still that whole fuck tonne of highly explosive stuff all under Kings Landing, including where Cersei's trial will be held ;)'

Saw a really good description for the differences in how Jon and Sansa go about things. They're now playing two completely different games, Sansa is still playing the smaller Game of Thrones while Jon has moved onto the bigger and more significant War of Ice and Fire

Good episode. The Battle of Mereen was something I enjoyed more.
For the Battle of the Bastards, I found it disappointing that Ramsay had the entire trap laid out and a better plan which played out but lost because of an 11th hour Vale charge. He controlled Moat Catlin and should have known...
The ending was satisfying though. Makes for an interesting finale which is going to go for 70 odd mins :)

Nah Littlefinger is in love with Sansa because she reminds him of her mother who he had a daily wank to. Would not surprise me if they end up getting married and then Sansa does something stupid which gets a lot of people killed as per usual

Fairly sure D&D or one of the writers explained how the whole time taken to travel places works and it's much like it is in the books with events not necessarily all happening at the same time and take place over different lengths of time. So while we saw Arya leave Braavos last week in terms of the show, she may have left Braavos weeks ago in terms of time in the actual world. The same goes for Theon and Yara's trip to Meereen.

Fair enough, it is just a certain Samwell Tarly seems to have been travelling to the citadel for an awfully long time. How is he going to learn anything and then get back to wall in time to help anybody with anything?

Arya returns to winterfell, ruled by Starks as it was when she left and thinks "fuck you had it easy".
