Also if Rickon dying isn't Darwinian at its best then i don't know what is. What dickhead wouldn't zig zag or hide behind the pyres when being shot at long distance by an archer. At least look behind you so you know when he shoots the arrow.

To be honest, the pyres looked like they were stepped in range from Ramsay's point of view. I'm sure the show makers probably didn't make it like that, but range markers for archers and musketeers etc back in the day was pretty useful. -PB

There is a reddit post stating that the flayed men were distance markers and also showed wind direction for Ramsay. Again, Ramsay baited Jon so easily, it's a bit of a shame that he lost in the end as he had Jon played.
I hope they spend more time up North next episode. KL can be done in 10 mins :)

Did anyone think it was stupid that the Slave Masters came out to start treating with Dany and Tyrion.
it really didn't make any sense to talk any further considering that Tyrion already has said its non negotiable and also that they would have learnt by now that Dany would go all out war rather than negotiate . It also didn't make any sense since they already accepted tyrions original offer only to renege on that

Crusader wrote:SocaWho wrote:Aljay wrote:Not real happy to see the Blackfish die after just being brought back. I really would much rather have seen him escape Riverrun and join Jon and Sansa as a tough guy warrior on their side.
However, what's going on with Edmure? How did he turn in such a short space of time and what's his long plan? Being told his heir is going to be catapulted over the walls of riverrun might have done the trick to turn Edmure. I think it makes sense for Edmure to give in...considering the Blackfish didn't give a shit if he died or not. I reckon Blackfish treated Edmure pretty harshly over the course of the series....I mean he heeded the advice of Robb who turned out to be a massive disaster when it came to logic and leadership the only fuck up Edmure ever did was going against Robb when capturing that stone mill Edited by Socawho: 17/6/2016 11:08:56 AM That was just another example of Robb holding everyone else to a higher standard than himself and blaming others for his mistakes. He wanted to draw the Mountain out but didn't tell Edmure of his plan or desired endstate and got sad because Edmure lacked the psychic abilities to know what he wanted. Give clear orders with a well defined mission, purpose, method and endstate and these problems will be avoided. Deserved the red wedding for that alone. What's more indicting on Robb was the fact when he started to heed advice it was only from his own mother ...whom we know was twice as clueless as he was and if it wasn't for her name was as useful as tits on a bull I think the red wedding initiated by Walder Frey wasn't based purely on the rejection from Robb but a lifetime of slights on his House by the Tullys. Even when Robb wanted to get through the Twins before the pact was made Frey had disdain for the Tullys and the Robb reneging was the last straw . But you're right they deserved the Red wedding ..especially when the Freys committed troops to be their cause and lost a ton of men ...only for Robb to fuck it up... I don't blame Walder Frey for what he did Edited by Socawho: 21/6/2016 04:17:37 PM

 Walder Frey is nothing but a little bitch who is only willing and 'brave' enough to do something when protected by the Lannisters. The sooner that family is eradicated from existence the better.

Walder Frey is nothing but a cheap opportunist.
He should have been punished by the Tully's during Robert's Rebellion when he only moved his troops in the Battle of the Trident after victory was assured.

Phwoar, just finished watching the episode, had to miss it yesterday. Bloody awesome, the final ending caught me by surprise as I thought I heard someone say Ramsay would live, fitting ending for that evil prick .

r+l=j spoilers
This is towards the end of the episode. Bran has another vision of the tower of joy. Ned finds Lyanna and we see a baby. Lyanna whispers something we don't hear. We then immediately cut to Jon. (next bit is speculation) I'm pretty confident that the scene we cut to is him going down into the crypts to bury rickon, where we will get confirmation of it and Jon finds out via something in the crypt.
I loved the way Jon showed up Ramsay at their first meeting and the film making of the camera swirling around Jon at the start of the battle, but felt that he did exactly what Sansa warned and allowed Ramsay to play him with Rickon. I felt that the whole 'magic army rising from nowhere' card had already been played with Stannis at the Wall. I also thought the whole 'bodies piled to the sky' so that they had to climb them took away from the realism they had tried so hard to create. Great episode and battle scenes but for me these two things were slightly off.
Can see the last episode being the Night King either arriving at or passing the Wall. Not sure how he'll get through without a horn. I also hope that Dany gets on some ships and finally sails to Westeros.

What an episode! I still rate Hardhome as the best ever episode of the series but man, this was a close second IMO.
I felt like every punch Jon threw at Ramsey, I was throwing them with him. Far out that was concerningly satisfying.
I think Sansa didn't tell Jon about the Vale coming because she assumed/thought that Jon would screw things up with that new knowledge. She was proven right in that he'd fall into Ramsey's trap, so I think she'll feel extremely self-validated having not told him about it.
It literally eats me up inside that Theon & Yara can make a decision to travel from the Iron Fxxxing Islands like 2 episodes ago and make it to Mereen now, but it's taken Khaleesi 6 fxxxing seasons to even face the direction which is known as west.

Dont worry, I felt that too. Although I was worried that he would die from that beatimg and it would be unsatisfying. But then the dog scene happened I found out Im a sick bugger for enjoying it so much. pv4 wrote:I think Sansa didn't tell Jon about the Vale coming because she assumed/thought that Jon would screw things up with that new knowledge. I think it is simply that she was not 100% sure they would come. She turned him away, then sent a message via bird. We never saw a return message so it is quite plausible that she was at a safe point in the camp when the vale arrived. pv4 wrote:It literally eats me up inside that Theon & Yara can make a decision to travel from the Iron Fxxxing Islands like 2 episodes ago and make it to Mereen now, but it's taken Khaleesi 6 fxxxing seasons to even face the direction which is known as west. Yes, but it does show all She needs is that fleet to get to the West real fucking fast. Also someone mentioned that the stories are not real time. The overthrow of the Iron Islands could have happend weeks or months ago for all we know?
