Klays good but not worth the money he's going to want. Delly will do okay but hey we don't expect him to be Leonard/Green like on the splash brothers.

Unfortunately I can see Delly being destroyed by Curry.

This pic just about sums up Game 1

Delly couldn't even the bring the ball over half court when Curry was guarding him.
Curry wont even have to shoot over him to score, he will just wait for Bogut / Speights / Green to set a pick or an offball screen for him to cut to the basket and lay it in.

The Cavs were playing a lot of isolation with James / Irving taking turns.

With Delly on court I think Shumpert and JR Smith will get more open looks....but Delly himself wont contain Curry.

Crazy good from the Cavs. Delly was incredible. Might have a series on our hands if the Cavs can do this every night, and an incredible series at that.

I didn't realise I was talking about just one game, my apologies. Still a long way to go and remains to be seen whether Delly can pull this kind of performance out every game, which is what he will need to do.

i think a betting man would have had Curry torching Delly 9 times out of 10.

This is the only bad game Curry has had all season.

The cavs offense was painful to watch, so much iso for Lebron for the whole game (he took like 35+ shots?)
Really need to look at playing off mosgov/james in the post, or any sort of ball movement would be an improvement

Credit to the Cavs, they've been incredible these past 2 games. Lebron is not human.

Funnily enough I think GS will take this loss better than Game 2, they seemed to finally get some of their mojo back in that 4th quarter, and Steph especially looked better than he has in any game since his fall against Houston.

Curry's not used to dealing with the kind of defence that Delly brings. There are some match-ups that throw even the greats. It's hard to think of examples in baskeball, but there are heaps in tennis. Dellavedova has the game to thwart Curry. He's not the most athletic and definitely not the most graceful, but he's athletic enough and has the tenacity to cause Curry problems. That said, basketball is a game involving more than two players. Cleveland are really stretching themselves and they haven't got much strength of the bench. Plus, eventually Curry figured out how to evade Delly and the other Warriors managed to block off Delly a bit and thereby afford Curry enough space to shoot.

So take nothing away from Delly, he deserves all the accolades. But I don't think Cleveland can keep it up for long enough. Given how thin Cleveland are spreading themselves, the Warriors would have to be incredibly stupid not to figure how ways of dealing with just two players on the opposition team. LeBron James said in the post-match interview that the Cavs are going to have to learn. He knows that the Warriors will do this. The question is can Cleveland find yet another gear? Have they got another ace up their sleeves? I worry that they don't. It would be magnificent if they can pull of a huge upset though.

Amazing stuff from Dellavedova. That three point play was out of this world. And his diving onto the ball and into the crowd. Jeez.

Aussie grit. Resilience, tenacity and resourcefulness. Don't give up until you're dead. The kind of thing Tim Cahill and Steve Waugh are famous for. Delly has it too.

It's not ubiquitous in Australian sport. Collectively, we were mentally weaklings at the 2012 Olympics. But we do seem to have something like what the English call "Spirit of the Blitz" in a lot of cases.

Seriously Australian basketball looks incredibly healthy at the minute. Patty Mills is a superstar. Matthew Dellavedova is mentally Herculean. The ultimate clutch player. Then there's Joe Ingles, Aaron Baynes and Andrew Bogut. Plus, Dante Exum is supposed to be a really gifted player.

I wish Australian football was just half as healthy as Australian basketball.

Australian basketball would be a lot more healthy if young players had a decent local league to develop in. The NBL is a joke at the moment its no wonder a lot of our talented AIS players are heading over to the USA to further there game at high school level. Sometimes I wonder if Basketball Australia and the NBL are taking the piss sometimes with some of the decisions they collectively make.

I don't know enough about Australian basketball but what you say sounds pretty valid.

Still, imagine if we had two Australian footballers playing in the European Champions League final?

That's kind of what this feels like, in basketball.

I thought he delivered in game 4. He hit three 3s under pressure. And he sunk just about every free throw. Mozgov was good, quite a bit better than the previous game.

I don't think Delly had the opportunity to be as good as he was in the previous two games because Golden State really improved their offense by bringing in Iggy.

LeBron just didn't show up for game 4. How did he miss so many free throws? I was staggered that one of the best in history could miss so many. He just had an off day.

Unfortunately, Golden State just have a lot more depth on the bench. They can produce more attacking weapons. LeBron and Delly are carrying Cleveland, with Mozgov chiming in. All three of them need to be firing on all cylinders for Cleveland to have a hope. It's a shame because I really want to see Cleveland win.

When did Delly hit 3 three's? Certainly didn't yesterday when he went 2-9

Last night showed that, as great as he is, Lebron can't win a series all on his own, especially against the best team in the league. They can't afford to have Delly, Smith and Shumpert go a combined 7 of 35 from the field and 3 of 22 from 3.

As for Lebron's free throws, not really a surprise, he's never been an outstanding FT shooter, only 74% over his career.

My bad. 2 from 9 it was. I miscounted. As for LeBron, I still think he didn't turn up and the fact that he scored from five from ten FT gives some idea of that. Okay he's not the greatest from the line, but he was well off overall.

But it would be be a pretty mean feat for him, and to a lesser extent Delly and Mozgov, to carry Cleveland.
