Ben Simmons to 'postpone' playing for Australia, will forgo 2016 Rio play 11:05 PM GMT Chris Broussard ESPN Senior Writer Email print comment Ben Simmons informed officials for Team Australia on Friday that he will not compete for the country's basketball team in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. "Ben Simmons will postpone playing with the Australian Olympic team this summer in order to concentrate fully on his NBA activities following the upcoming 2016 NBA draft,'' Simmons' agent, Rich Paul, said in a statement. "Australian Olympic Team training and competition takes place at the same time as the various NBA summer development programs, and therefore, Ben will look forward to his national team participation at some time later in his career.'' The consensus national freshman of the year, Simmons, 19, is projected to be the top player in the draft. He averaged 19.2 points, 11.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists for LSU. He drew comparisons to Magic Johnson and LeBron James for his passing and court vision. EDITOR'S PICKS NBA GMs: Ingram or Simmons No. 1 in draft? Ben Simmons is no longer the No. 1 pick, according to some. After talking to NBA GMs about the situation, Chad Ford and Kevin Pelton discuss who should be the top pick in the NBA draft. Who's in, who's out of 2016 NBA draft? Chad Ford provides the latest intel on which players are entering the 2016 NBA draft and which are staying put. Ranking top 30 draft prospects by stats, scouts Kevin Pelton debuts his projections for the best NBA draft prospects. Is Ben Simmons No. 1 or does Duke's Brandon Ingram take the top spot? Despite Simmons' brilliance, the Tigers had a disappointing season and failed to reach the NCAA tournament. In May, Simmons was one of 26 players named as a candidate for Team Australia. The list included seven NBA players, led by Golden State's Andrew Bogut, San Antonio's Patty Mills and Cleveland's Matthew Dellavedova. Simmons told Australian team representatives that he is open to playing for the team in the future, perhaps as soon as the summer of 2018. Simmons was born in Melbourne, Australia, where his dad, David Simmons, starred in the Australian National Basketball League. Ben Simmons lived in Australia until moving to the United States for his final three years of high school at Montverde Academy in Florida. http://www.espn.com.au/olympics/basketball/story/_/id/15165104/ben-simmons-play-australia-2016-rio-olympics

72 wins. End the Spurs home run and stop them going undefeated at home Most road wins in a season Also become the first team to ever go a full regular season without back to back losses
And people questioned whether the Warriors would be as good as last season

NBA has no plans to take a game to Australia in the foreseeable futurecheck out one of the comments  Quote:In other news, Afghanistan has no plans to take the national sport of Buzkashi to Australia in foreseeable future Buzkashi (literally "goat dragging" in Persian), is the Central Asian sport in which horse-mounted players attempt to drag a goat or calf carcass toward a goal. Edited by condemned666: 4/5/2016 02:36:13 PM

Yes Cavs. Taking it to Game 6.
Kyrie Irving shot the lights out. Such an amazing basketballer and athlete. Ridiculously good technique, it seems to me, and knowledge of how to get a shot away.
Hopefully LeBron and Kyrie carry on at this rate.
And maybe Matthew Dellavedova helps out a bit.

The only way Delly can help is by not playing at all.

What is apparent now is that the Cavs are really in fact a Big 2 ...not a Big 3. Love has as much trade value as Carl Landry I think Irvings performance tonight has made it possible for him to stay at the Cavs...but win or lose this series, Love won't be in Cleveland next year  Edited by Socawho: 14/6/2016 05:12:30 PM

Would Lue choose Mo Williams over Delly when resting Kyrie? Delly would be better at defending Curry than Williams

He suggested that Dellavedova is a much safer bet defensively. Hopefully he'll be able to restrict Curry. But Williams will bring more offence-wise.

James had an unbelievably good day with his jump shot. He won't have 2 more of those, and considering even with him doing that I still think the Warriors win that game if Draymond was playing. Pretty he averages more minutes than any other GSW player and is critical to their structure. I think they'll finish it in 6, but can't fathom that they would lose a game 7 at home.

James won't shoot like that again, he only shoots well like that 1 out every 10 games
