Hard to know what to make of it really, the drug was only banned on Jan 1 of this year. Then again, she and her team should know better.

With this said I think it's also obvious she (like probably thousands of other athletes) have used this over the past ten years to dope but given it wasn't banned back then there's no problem with that. Nike have already suspended there relationship with her.

The WTA is moronic to force Sharapova out, we can only hope she takes the chance to move into porn.

But anyway Tomic has a huge chance to Acapulco in Mexico this weekend, has a semi against Dolgopolov and would play Thiem/Querrey in the final. If he were to win the tournament he'd reach a new career high ranking at 15.
Had to run off and bang his girlfriend.

Some really entertaining tennis just now.
Gents' doubles.
Lleyton Hewitt and Jordan Thompson vs Nicolas Almagro and David Marrero (both from Spain).
Lleyton no longer in retirement ;) helping out Jordan. But he loves playing lengthy matches in front of an audience. True to form for Lleyton, it went for ages. On court for 3 hours and 58 minutes. The Aussies won 6-7 6-4 19-17.
Anyway, tiny court but massive audience. The audience was almost entirely Aussie and was fairly raucous. It was almost like watching a Davis Cup tie. Hewitt really fired them up and really fed off the energy. Meanwhile, the Spanish blokes were fuming. They had arguments galore with people in the audience. Lleyton then stood up for people in the audience.
The Spanish kept on complaining to the chair umpire and even one of the referees. They hated the crowd. But the crowd thought it was hilarious. In commentary, John Newcombe was asking what the Spanish expected the chair umpire to make the crowd do. They can't be expected to be quiet between points. Todd Woodbridge then said something along the lines of- it's not the surprising the crowd is getting excited given there's 'a Wimbledon icon' on the court.
The commentators sided fairly firmly with the Aussies. Newc was saying how one of the Spanish blokes got a bit excited. Todd took him down big time- 'yeah and he sends his mate over to have the argument with the umpire'.
A bit bogan Aussie from the crowd but it was all in good humour and the Spanish just couldn't seem to cope with it well. They should have used it to charge them up.

Unpopular opinion
Even though its the Women's final, and theres a likely chance Serena Williams will win, I just wish that Serena Williams does not voice her political opinion about "black lives matter" and the shootings in dallas the other day. I just get the sense because Jay Z and Beyonce are sitting in Serena's players box
Mainly because Serena Williams has won $77 million US as a tennis player, and this whole "black lives matter" thing is about those in a lower demographic. and being a tennis player Serena Williams is in a privileged background. Why should the opinion of 1 sports player matter?

+xReally hope there's some other good up and coming Aussie tennis talent that aren't fuckwits like Tomic and Kyrgios. -PB I have no problems getting behind Kyrgios, the way our media treats him is ridiculous. Tomic on the other-hand not so much.... Anyway Kyrgios has a huge chance to move up the rankings, only defending 10 points at the US Open and has a good draw where he really should be getting to the fourth round at least. Del Potro won as well :)
Ivanovic lost though (sadly was rubbish from what I saw)

+xThis thread is unusually quiet considering the time of year Have been busy working the last few weeks, haven't seen as much of the tournament as I would've liked. Up $700 from punting on it though.

Nick has his problems but in my opinion it's unfair that he's getting lumped in with the Tomic situation. I genuinely think he was trying to play against Herbert and not just to pocket the cash.

Kyrgios was clearly injured, really should not of played but I guess Wimbledon is his best Slam though. Tomic has been tanking it for a while now, maybe he's depressed or has given up knowing his best will never be good enough. Anyway if he keeps up with this current attitude it won't be long until he'll be playing qualifiers to get into GrandSlams.
