Been meaning to make some good old Pulled Pork. Love me some pulled pork. I wanna try my hand at making a Southern-Style 'Gumbo'. The recipes I've found on youtube look tasty as fuck.

-PB what the fuck is a pulled meat recipe??? we slaughtered a steer recently and due to the dry and no feed he wasn't premium steak territory, so my wife has been doing slow cooked meals in the crock pot......beautiful ....she has a book of different recipies and they are awesome....so if you are on a tight budget you can eat great flavoured food and really enjoy great spices and tender meat.....she is very clever......usually using gravy, chuck, round and topside cuts.......

-PB Having been down the dirty south countless times its not from their meat alone. Fried this fried that is their problem, from catfish and obviously copious amounts of fried chicken ! Washed down by near on 1litre glass's of bottomless coke or whatever fizzy drink they fancy. Sure the steaks etc are then slopped over with heaps of fatty sauces lol Nothing though nothing beats their smoked spare ribs ! (nice and flat long ribs none of this short curled up ones you see here heaps) now that meat just peels off effortlessly and the taste is to die for ! Batfink - talking about meat skewers, having married into the Portugese/Maderain fraternity nothing beats their Espetada ! Buy large piece of quality rump. Cut into large 2" blocks. Slide onto skewers as you have just made (I have 6 similar). Have a tray filled with rock salt, break up a few bay leaves - some even crush some garlic into the rock salt as well, mix with hands. Hold skewer over rock salt - grab handful of above slide over meat so portions stick to meat. Place on grill over really hot coals as mentioned. They only need about 5-6min max, when meat start to cure start banging skewers over the grill to knock off some rock salt from the meat, too much left on obviously test your taste buds ! and being only 5-6mins MAX HAVE to eat these med to rare. BEAUTIFUL ! our friends love coming over knowing this is on. After dinner always have a bag of nice large chestnuts, make a little split on the shell over the top throw on grill, take a little while to cook, grab a few once ready, crack open the rest of the shelling eat away - highly recommend a good bottle or 2 of nice RED - I'm salivating right now lol

Anyone in here studied enough to answer me this:
I have a mate who eats 18 bananas every single day of his life. No exaggeration - 18. I keep telling him that 18 bananas a day surely can't be healthy for him in the long-term. Is there any dietary type people here that can clarify for me if he'll have any positive or negative effects from such a lifestyle?
For reference, he eats other foods too - strictly vegetarian. But I'm attempting to drill him on the bananas before worrying about anything else
The other for reference - the reason he eats so many bananas a day is he said he saw someone on youtube do it

Is your mate Peter Siddle by any chance? Fairly sure he does a similar thing. Remember during the Ashes last season he was chowing down on banannas every other over when he wasn't bowling on the boundary. Remember during the WACA test I think it was there was a photo of him carrying in 2 or 3 bananna boxes around to the dressing rooms before play.

Gotta find out why Yanks are so fat.
-PB If you've got the time and a quality oven, cooking it for twice as long on a really low temperature makes an insane difference. The meat practically evaporates as you put it in your mouth.

-PB One of the special features on the Once Upon A Time In Mexico DVD is Robert Rodriguez making Puerto Pibil, making the observations that "not knowing how to cook is like not knowing how to fuck. You're going to do it for the rest of your life so you may as well get good at it"
