Goal as Kruse gets the ball after a 20 meter dribble from a team mate and hits it low only for a nice deflection from the defender to put the ball in the corner. 1-0 Ddorf Kruse will get the goal.

Runs a lot at defenders, I saw he had a good run and drew a foul just before the goal. Does this a lot in matches

Dylan McGowan starting for Hearts again. Could very well have cemented his spot.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Some disappointing club results but at least players are getting game time. Nice to see that Dylan McGowan seems to have established himself in the first team. Seems to be doing better for Hearts in midfield than RB for GCU. Fairly worrying for Valeri though. He's been fit for a while now, but seems out of favour.

Good shot by Holman almost won the game but Szczesny tipped it onto the bar.

Is Spiranovic injured? If hes not making game squads there he should not be near a NT again.

Don't be stupid, Spira will be in the NT for a very very long time. Great defender just needs to get the hell out of the middle east. Just 2 more years and he's out of contract.

There was a reason i asked. I wasn't sure and forgotten the NT game. I too thought he was going to be a star but after his time in Grmany and Japan i wouldnt be surprised to see others ovrtake him.

this is sing to get redundant now that youth are getting a look in by holger and a bunch of our more promising youngsters have struggled with injuries but young players getting starts in good leagues gks: bouzanis, fed (if you can call him young), cisak defenders: lowry, mcgowan, mcgowan, bailey wright Mids: sarota, holland, amini Attacking players: oar, Govas, Leckie, kruse again you can make a full team out of young players getting starts.

Govas is one that I would've liked to see in the A-League. Apparently, trialled at Heart and looked good in trial games but by then they had decided to go with Garcia who has been a good signing. However, when they have an older guy like Fred who can't really play 90 mins or string games together without injury anymore it is disappointing. Last year Fred got over 13,000 a game. A great talent but waste of money and a roster spot when it keeps our young playmakers out of the league

Bundesliga update:
Leckie with an assist and a very sound performance which included a 60m dribble where he evaded two defenders with ease in a 3-1 win in Bochum.
Kruse with an assist in a 1-1 draw in Dortmund which had Langerak on the bench with Amini not in the squad.
Ruka not in the Mainz squad which won 3-1 in Frankfurt.
Scott McDonald picked up a double in a 3-0 win over Huddersfield.

Kruse has been given a few best player ratings this evening and he really took it to Dortmund which I've seen in the highlights.

Looks like Kruse is going great guns this from the soccernet webpage: "When Kruse got past Weidenfeller in the 58th minute, he found Marcel Schmelzer covering on the goal line. It was a risky game that Dortmund were playing, and they were punished in the 78th minute when Reisinger headed Fortuna level from Kruse's cross." Great to see him (and Leckie) doing so well. Thanks for the update Johnsz.
Absolutely blown away by how well Kruse is doing, he doesn't seem to shy away against stronger opposition like Dortmund either. With a few more years experience under his belt he could be an absolute monster of a player.
Sad to see Ruka left out of the squad entirely.

The cross he whipped in was pinpoint and beautiful. Watched the majority of the game, he definitely looked Dusseldorf's most lively player.
Similarly in Aston Villa's 1-0 win over Reading this evening, Holman was probably their best player before being subbed off in the 66th (IIRC) minute. Wasn't spectacular, but was Villa's best in an average performance. Federici pulled off a couple of good saves, as well as defusing some potentially damaging crosses. Could do nothing about the goal.
Great to hear about McDonald.
All in all, seems like a decent morning for OS Aussies, however as Neanderthal said, disappointing to see Ruka wasn't in the squad however perhaps he was injured? Doubt he would've been dropped completely as he looked lively on the weekend.

Just watched the Dusseldorf - Dortmund game, a few impressions.
Dortmund were clearly the better side, and completely dominated the first half without creating a whole lot of chances. Their lead was well deserved though. Kruse, playing up front rather than out wide got few opportunities and when he did he tended to lose the ball quite a bit.
Second half Dusseldorf improved and played more football than in the first. The goal came from Dortmund turning over possession, Kruse managed to get back onside (he was offside a lot during the game) in time to get the ball, and, unmarked, put over a great cross for the finish.
Kruse did some other decent things with the ball but wasn't that much of a factor tbh. His workrate was excellent.
In a side that came to defend Kruse did a good job overall and was one of the very few Fortuna players who looked somewhat dangerous when they got the ball in attack. In a defensive team performance against a superior opponent I'd give him about a 7/10.
If he has a couple of seasons like the one he's started he could go to a bigger club IMO.
And his improvement is awesome for the NT, he is now one of our most influential players.

Holman must've been frustrated. Should've had an assist but Benteke's shot was weak. Should've scored too.. he had acres of space in the box but Weimann put it in row Z instead of a simple pass.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.
