Lol @ Mitwali getting sent off, would love to see why/if justified.

Also nice to see Timmy's NYRBs pushing for the title, no doubt his and Henry's influence really working their magic.

Quite interesting - He moved from Grosseto to Sassuolo because it had a better chance of promotion to Serie A, he said at the time. Though Grosseto were a round abouts higher mid-table club after promotion from Serie C1 a season or two before and Sassuolo were abouts the edge of the play-off places, hardly superior to Grosseto in places nor convincing promotion prospects. They fell short during one play off campaign a season or two ago. So, it took 3 seasons but finally the ambition was realised and his club are all but there, via automatic promotion. Ironically, Grosseto have continued to decline and are now on the opposite end of the Serie B table, dead last and already confirmed to be relegated.

How ironic is that? And just confirms the wisdom of his choice, back in 2010. It really helps when you are a player like Valeri, already well establish in Italy and Serie B by then, who knows the league/s and the clubs in that nation pretty well, especially considering the darker side of some of the clubs in Italy. Where so many of our other Aussies Abroad, often newer and more naive or badly advised, have made such ill-advised moves, it's good to know the lay of the land and Valeri clearly did so.

Hopefully we can have more of these sorts of players, as too the older blokes like Bresc, Grella, Skoko and others advise some of the younger ones or even become FIFA accredited agents, so some of the mistakes of the past can be avoided. So many clubs present what people want to hear, but the experience is far from, including wages with-held, players held up in transfer red tape, Chairmen interference at clubs etc... Aussie players have experienced the works I think, especially in Italy (Bresc's troubles at Palermo, Kalac had trouble at Perugia) and Central/Eastern Europe (Thwaite and others in Romania etc)!

Herd has been injured since January but is probably a starter. Triosi might st a run next year fingers crossed. Valeri I'm a little more pessimistic about sadly

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Nah just SPL. Could be an injury but if he's been dropped then jeez...

Other games... Wilkshire (now), Holman (maybe), Ruka (maybe), Amini (maybe), Kruse, Holland. That's about it.

He pressed the defender who scored an own goal for the opener but Nurnberg came back with 2 unanswered in the second half.

Fortuna most likely to be relegated after that loss now :(

Leckie starting. Kruse will have trouble in Leverkusen now that Hegeler played a blinder yesterday at right mid scoring 2. Hegeler is normally centre midfield.

Leckie's chances at Gladbach are very slim as Hrgota,a new young player, scored a hat trick yesterday in his first game in an attacking position. They're probably not going to be too keen on Leckie when they have a massive amount of attacking players and have just extended Herrmann's contract.

Leckie at centre forward so far. Ran with his teammate who could've squared it to him but took it and scored. That player, Gaus, is going to Kaiserlsuatern next season. I wouldn't have a problem with Leckie staying at FSV another year on loan or even getting a permanent deal but I doubt FSV can afford what Gladbach would like.

Leckie will be 'due' to face the inevitable ultimatum of whether it's worth staying to fight longer/risk his current scenario longer as he gets older, or move for better opportunity elsewhere. With his loan etc... it surely seems that time comes soon.

More he impresses on loan, the more some potential suitors may take notice - From Bundesliga Bundesliga II or even elsewhere.

Hopefully can 'do a James Holland' or the like - Holland spent a few years seemingly dwindling at AZ. Then he later secured a lower league loan move, shortly after departed for his present team in Austria. Now he's coming on stronger and stronger, ever growing in confidence and reputation, despite his shaky NT start last game. He will only get better.

You remember with kind of rose coloured glasses? That was only in a few games - notably our first ever AFC Qualifier in early 08, hosting Qatar, where we absolutely dominated a stage struck Qatar 3-0. There were a couple other home matches like that, notably Qatar away where we also won by a similar scoreline, but they were exceptions.

Later we had to adjust to Kennedy solo upfront and he did indeed, still score for fun, but it was via corners, set pieces and other direct play, where we were snatching results. So often not through the best football. But he still scored. No wonder he's bagged even more for fun in Japan, with the quality delivery he gets and relatively good football his team would play.

The Kennedy-Cahill combo is a malfunctioning one, and has always largely been so. It was finally exposed first game of third stage qualifying this campaign, hosting Thailand.

So good to see Kennedy back and firing, ATLAST, indeed!

Prior to this season - Since he left AU. It's great he finally secured the loan this season, but sounds as if he will surely be on the move and so he should be. He needs senior football.

edit: Whoops he's only been in Germany since mid-2011! I thought it was the season before that! lol my bad! He's barely been in Europe 2 seasons!

Sounds as if he's not going too bad collectively then! But hopefully he can secure a decent next move.

I just guess the Socceroos hype, call him up talk, has been going soo long, since AU probably, lol.
