playmaker11 wrote:Babalj played 45 mins for AZ reserves Not surprising really, they have brought in a few similar aged strikers the last few seasons and Jóhannsson and Gudmundsson seems to be their first choice. I could see him having a similar season to Kruse's first season as that is seemingly what Jóhannsson had.

Geez, that second Bozanic goal was a good finish. Squeezed that one in.

Austria Wien play their champions league 3rd qualifying round 1st leg tonight, hopefully they can at least make it through this round so they are guaranteed to make the Europa league group stages at minimum, it is good they have kept Hosiner up to now.

Holland was a sub for the whole game, I am guessing because they were looking for goals. Since they Will be underdogs in all group games I am guessing he will play there but still I am not liking this new manager

'Where in the world is' Matthew Spiranovic? Seems he's still at Al-Arabi, BUT, he was training with Victory not long ago and perhaps seeking a move as his club was in financial trouble? He only has a season left on his present club deal anyway - so they could let him go?
People speculated a move to Victory at the time, but that was firmly denied. So he MUST have options overseas? Hopefully GOOD options!

Langerak is in line to play the first two games of the season Source: http://www.bvb.de/?k%E5%84%ECZ%1B%E7%F4%9C%5Cn%E7%84%9EQuote:Roman Weidenfeller, who missed the final Test in Würzburg for back pain, is also back in training, but is expected to sit on the bench in the Cup match in Wilhelmshaven. The physical problems play a subordinate role in this decision. Since Weidenfeller is locked to the league starting in Augsburg (red card on the 34th day of the season against Hoffenheim), Mitch Langerak will also come in the cup used. The Australians can thus collect more match practice in Wilhelmshaven. Klopp: "I intend to let Mitch play on Saturday." Boris Rupert

Nice, hope Mitch plays well. Guy has had limited chances, Weidenfeller is a quality keeper.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

The club haven't done their English version (so lots of it is Google translated from dutch) of their match report but I have gotten a few things about the game Ryan played this morning. Also some good news is that Kujovic (their main GK last season) was on the bench this game, was returning from injury though so may not have been fully fit but still it shows confidence in Ryan Highlights, a chipped goal which always makes Ryan look kinda short but it was an open 1v1. does pretty bad on a shot at about the 4 minute mark that looks like going wide which he fails to grab and I think deflects it slightly closer to goal Ryan reactionhe was one of 3 players selected for reaction interviews, here is his: http://clubbrugge.be/nl/nieuws/16514/reacties-na-slask-wroclaw-club-bruggeQuote:Mathew RYAN
"Too bad we could not score"
Mathew Ryan could keep long with some first-rate saves the zero on the board, but after twenty minutes in the second half to give the Australian keeper has finally won Plaku the ball perfectly Ryan goal in goal. "It was a one on one situation and so I tried to keep large and wide. Me as long as possible But I must admit that he completed it perfectly. " The Australian Club is aware that no good result set in Poland, but remains fully believe in qualifying opportunities. "I'm still not long at Club, but we can in any case much better than what we have shown today. However, I think we also have to show and have quite a number of good chances enforced. Good things It is a pity that we could not score. Who is now the favorite to qualify? They are now in favor, but is followed by a return game for a home crowd so we have everything in our own hands. But we will have to play today. "(SF) better Ryans mentions from their match reporthttp://clubbrugge.be/nl/nieuws/16509/matchverslag-slask-wroclaw-clubQuote:However, Blue-Black started sloppy to the party. The Poles put early pressure so the locals were not their game. So Ryan had an early shot of Mila address, while a fine reflex could hold.
The home team could still threaten the peace once, but the strong keepende Ryan pushed a shot over the crossbar Sobota.
Moments later the Polish goalkeeper had a bang on again Refaelov slip out of his hands, but the ball bounced against the post. Across Ryan seemed to follow his example, but this time rolled the ball just wide.
Club seemed better to sit in the game after the break but it was Slask Wroclaw - boosted by the enthusiastic home supporters - after an hour playing the lead came. Plaku slipped through the offside goal and the 1-0 perfectly Ryan in goal. on a polish report it was suggested Ryan dealt with a 1v1 earlier in the game but it might have been a miss translation as it was not in the highlights Edited by moofa: 2/8/2013 12:59:07 PM

it seems Mainz are looking at getting rid of Ruka. From what I have seen it is just that he does not fit their system. Here is a quote but I think the second line is a bit of a bad translation and should say they will not put any obstacles in their way http://www.sportal.de/bundesliga-fsv-mainz-bleibt-ein-ausbildungsverein-1-2013071228556400000Quote:On the other hand both left defender Malik Fathi and striker Nikita Rukavytsya can leave the club. Both "know that we attach to them any obstacles in the way when they find another club," said Heidel. Edited by moofa: 2/8/2013 01:14:52 PM

Hasn't been looking good for Ruka for a while now and without a good preseason he won't be having any impact unfortunately.

Would much prefer Ruka back in purple! I think his ball control will always make life tough for him in faster leagues.

We'll all be watching with keen interest how Kruse goes at his new, bigger, club. His was becoming a star at his former club and a regular, key, player at the very least. Let's hope he can break through at Leverkusen fairly quickly and he's NOT seeing this season WASTED as he's relegated to being an 'impact sub' at the very most.
IF that's the case then they may aswell loan him out, even back to his old club!
One of our NT's leading players, it's crucial he sees regular game time this season!
