Sorry what?

he is talking in terms of highest level played/best team played for. starting for them won't make him a legend but we have not had many players starting in CL regular clubs or equivalent (top 4 in England, Spain, Germany or Italy)

Thats correct
If anything I was being conservative. Ned delicious never played more than nineteen games in a season for Dortmund so was hardly a key player
Its an unbelievable achievement if he can do it. The odds are stacked against him

Fantastic that we have players performing and scoring goals overseas. Both Leckie and Bozanic must be sky high with confidence, and it bodes well for them for the rest of the season provided they can stay fit.

Davidson playing for Heracles youth... Is he coming back from injury or are things starting to go pear-shaped? Only got 6 starts last season, hopefully he can improve on that.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

I saw last game he was suspended due to a red card for Hercules so maybe easing him back into it?

You're kidding me. Just finished watching the replay - the kid is very athletic and solid in the tackle but is petrified of having his foot on the ball.

Preston had better players than him, and young Tom Ince was excellent for Blackpool.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of Wright later on this season, if he has the skills to match the athleticism he'll be a good player. But today he just looked a hard, Div 1 defender.

Some Belgium magazine ranked Matt Ryan the 10th best player of the last Jupiler pro league

http://sportmagazine.knack.be/sport/nieuws/voetbal-nationaal/speler-van-de-week-geoffrey-mujangi-bia/article-4000366588266.htm

Quote:
10. Matthew Ryan (Club Brugge): Ostend in a bright spot in a rough turning Club Brugge. The Australian state with a lot of confidence to play football in the back and also has an excellent long ball into the feet.

Rukavystya scored in an 8-0 win against some regional side. Started on the bench (strong starting XI) and presumably played the second 45', not certain on that though. I still think it's going to be a tough season for him.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Holland starting against FH (away in Iceland). Can't imagine Rogic will play any part in Celtic's match.

I wouldn't be surprised if that IS all he is. Don't mean to write him off or whatever, but he IS only at Preston and did break through when he was young. Obviously his physique made that a big factor.

When he left for Australia and what not, he left in the early era of the 'technical reforms', joining Preston back when he was only 17 in mid 2009.

Depends what style of football Preston play - You guys can answer that better. IF they play out from the back, then clearly he will be required to short pass in or across and avoid 'hoofing' when they can.

I can't say they hoofed it the full 90, they have a very skilful CM distributor - chunky bloke, forgot his name. But they do a lot of second ball stuff and play football from there.

Ryan's having a shocker in their Europa League match so far. Could've done better with the 1st goal, partly at fault for the 2nd and completely misread the situation for the 3rd, came way out off his line onto the pitch and got beaten.

It should be noted that his team has been pretty poor.

With Langerak playing the first two competitive games of BvB's season he is getting a mention in a few articles, one fact I found was that he is 10-0-0 in competitive games for BvB including 2 against Bayern. Also he again talks about Mitch being the next no.1 and apparently may have promised him games at each level so hopefully if BvB go 4-0-0 in their first 4 CL games he might get a run in the last two.

Quote:
Ten games, ten wins
That Roman Weidenfeller will not play, he does not mention. Perhaps because he has been more than two months, the certainty, since the goalie in the last Bundesliga match of last season saw the red card and was suspended for one match. But perhaps also because Klopp now know that such a good goalkeeper standing between the post and will be therefore be concluded no significant loss of quality. The name of the representative: Mitch Langerak (24). His reference BVB: ten wins in ten appearances. Including how the explosive against Bayern Munich 3-1 in the league in 2011 led shortly afterwards to the championship, 5-2 in the DFB Cup final on Double victory of 2012.

At the end of his first year was the Championship, then came the league and cup victory in last season's Champions League final. Triumphs, which Langerak, if it went well, has a couple of excellent games and a harmonious relationship to the number one contributed. The many titles are fine, but the problem is Langeraks perspective: Weidenfeller, just turned 33, although is getting older, but somehow always better.

No more sleepless nights
"We are currently in the comfortable situation that one as Roman Weidenfeller can fail and really have no sleepless in the context nights must," said Jürgen Klopp, "but there is no question that an exceptional goalkeeper as Mitch eventually be the No. 1 want to. "This year Langerak, the deep relaxed Australian clothed, the temporary job is definitely not. Also because it matches the coach has promised, ideally games of each grade.

Augsburg is located under the new Dortmund understanding in the category: very important.

CL play-offs involving Aussies
Celtic vs Shakhter Karagandy (Kazakhstan)
Austria Wein vs Dinamo Zagreb (Croatia)

I am a lot more worried about Austria than Celtic after those draws. A trip to Kazakhstan will be hard though
