I made my above comment before seeing the goal with Carney's error, he certainly should not be picked soon.

johnszasz wrote:Watched the Leverkusen game. Kruse came on with 20min left. He did some good things. One moment was typical Robbie where he turned his marker and ran a good 20m with the ball in total free space, was a great move and got applause at the pub. He was constantly moving and making himself available. He lost the ball a few times and his crosses were generally blocked. Generally he showed that he likes to move into spaces and weave with the ball out wide which he did well. Sam is still ahead but Hyppia has to know that he has a very good replacement option.
The problem was that his teammates barely seem to want to include him in the game. The fittest player on the pitch and they kept the ball away from him, preferring to go to the left wing where the tired Son was. Son is a little selfish bastard and Kiessling only worries about himself. Kruse seems like a total outsider that isn't wanted by his manager or teammates. Leverkusen basically ruins a person each season and Kruse is the victim this time round.
The whole left flank is a mess. Leverkusen's LB can't link up with Son at all and, at times, ignores him. The only player who actually distributes the ball well in the team is Sidney Sam. Hopefully, Kruse get some more playing time.

Adrian Madaschi starts against Daejeon Citizen. Currently 0-0 Alex Wilkinson starts against Incheon United. Currently 0-0
Adrian Madaschi might be starting a lot more games for Jeju United now. His competition at CB, Hong Jeong-Ho, has left to the Bundesliga to play for FC Ausburg.

Keeper better hope his wife is faithful because he certainly can't control his box. Should be in Dave's ear as Schwarzer should have been in 2011.
Poor positioning, but that's what you get for asking a naturally attacking player to defend.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Oar's having a decent game against Zwolle. Tight contest, currently 1-1. On a side note, Stef Nijland (ex-Brisbane) scored the equaliser. Very tidy player. Zwolle are currently top of the league.

Club Brugge has brought in a few new players over the last few days. No-one at GK but hopefully these new signings can push Brugge close to they title and Ryan can play the Champions or Europa leagues

Good to see Carney getting some game time for once. Don't really want to see him back in the national team yet but it was pretty pathetic him doing nothing for a year rather than play in the a league

Looking at doing a quick European Aussies news roundup for the last 24 hours checking if any transfer rumors are flying around. Start with leckie and the one article that comes back is about Ruka It was from transfermarkt about Frankfurt taking him on loan but I will show/link the source https://twitter.com/BILD_mainz05Quote: FSV Mainz 05 @ BILD_mainz05 Secret! Nikita Rukavytsya (26) changes to FSV Frankfurt - Mainz lends the Australian striker for one year from the second division! It would be interesting if there was one spot in the WC spot between the both of them but I am in the belief using club teammates in a national team is an excellent way to increase fluidity of the team so if it happens and they both do well I would like to see them both. Worst case would be Ruka taking Leckies spot but I think Leckie might be the safer of the two strikers for now. Also at 26 you have to say if Ruka doesn't go to Brazil I don't think we will see him too much for the national team afterwards especially since he relies on his pace so much. Also not this is BILD so could be absolute crap but multiple reports on it with some quote Quote:The FSV supported yet. FSV Manager Kent Bergersen says: "As long as nothing is signed, we will give out nothing." But the matter is clear to BILD information. http://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/nikita-rukavytsya/fsv-holt-mainz-star-32069590.bild.htmlMainz also just brought in a Bulgarian winger as another hint at Ruka going. just to make this not a rumors thread I am wondering if you guys think that having players in the same team in Europe could be a massive benefit to the national team? We have had it at Utrecht for a bit but they have never really had a good run i the team together. Edited by moofa: 2/9/2013 12:41:38 PM

Schwarzer Wilkshire Neill Williams Davidson Kruse Rogic Jedinak Oar Cahill Kennedy
I think this is our most balanced line up. With Rogic and Williams we will have some real class on the ball. God I hope Rogic firms himself as a regular with Celtic this season, he will be our gun player in the decade to come.

Balanced is not a word I would use to describe a line-up where the sum total of all of our attacks will be lobbing in high balls from the wing to hit Cahill and Kennedy on the head.

Good team but if we go for that personnel I would prefer them playing as more of a 433 --------Schrarz------- Wilks--Neil-Williams--Davidson ---------Jedi------- ----Rogic--Cahill------- Kruse--Kennedy----Oar In fact that does look pretty good although I cant see holger playing 1 DM. I think I would actually rather either Milligan or Holland to make the DM position their own, Ryan to take over number 1 from Schwarz and then after the world cup either spira or sainsbury take over from neil and McGowan take over from Wilkshire. That would give us quite a skilful, attacking team which is capable of playing posession football and playing out from the back. Post WC: ------------Ryan---------- McGowan--Spira-Williams--Davidson ----------Milligan---------- -------Rogic--Cahill---------- Kruse-----Kennedy----Oar

Some good saves from Ryan. Brugge's defenders seemed to be a bit too cute when bringing the ball out of defence. As for the goal conceded, was a well place free kick. Right into a zone that keepers don't want to see the ball arriving.
Bruuge's second was a great strike.
Also, what was up with Brugge's 32?

My favourite sporting moment ever. Of course the caveat is here that I am (as well as football,) a massive AFL fan and I support Richmond. So the good moments are few and far between.

With the likes of Bresciano, Kruse, Oar and Rogic making up our midfield, we would be utterly idiotic to implement tactics like this.... so in saying that Holger will probably do it. But seriously with those four there, we shouldn't need nor want to do that.
