Also another classy performance from Ryan by all accounts. 1-0 win. Wilkshire playing CSKA away and Oar playing Ajax away shortly. Leckie/Ruka later on.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Wow - that would have to be the fewest goals they have conceded with him on the field since he arrived there. Seems they only lost 4-0 without him too - so the usual sort of scoreline they're used to with Luca$h in the lineup. He gave away a penalty as well as getting red carded. The funny thing is Omiya Ardija did not sub on another defender when Neill got sent off and they lasted another 62 minutes until conceding a second.

Wilkshire just played all 90 for Dinamo in their 2-0 win over CSKA who were top of the table until recently. Looking forward to seeing the highlights for that after the Zenit game.

Wilkshire didn't make a single defensive contribution ( tackle or intercept) all game. Defensively his form is worse than Shane Lowry albeit in a better league. Unfortunately oar had his worst game of the season statistically. He was in the middle of the pack by his team standards when he was subbed off when he usually excells. Unfortunately he has had a few games below his normal standards in a row. Wonder if he is carrying an injury

Yeah it could have knocked his confidence. He is woefully out of form yet is still an average eredivisie player..

Wonder if he is carrying an injury I looked at Wilkshire on whoscored.com and it says he likes to play long balls and balls in the air. Tackling and crossing are weaknesses.

Leckie was good, FSV went up 3-0 in the first half. He was subbed off on 61'. Ruka has been subbed on but so far very ineffective. Seems like the manager is still tinkering with him, he's playing as a lone striker and FSV are currently still up 3-1 but on the back foot. Only saw the first half of the CSKA game. I thought Wilkshire was great, so composed on the ball. I agree Oar was pretty average. Utrecht in general aren't the same as last season.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

I agree Oar was pretty average. Utrecht in general aren't the same as last season. Utrecht not going so well might mean Sarota is more likely to come back into the side as soon as he is fit.

Dusseldorf equaliser, 1-1 in the 51st minute, Halloran involved deep in the build up.
That was a bloody nice free kick for their opponent's goal though.

I think that was Halloran that just got on that rebound just then, but his shot hit a defender.

Nope it was from a Greuther Furth player, cut back to his feet in front of an open goal and he skied it, gracefully falling to the keeper who had already stranded himself on the deck by the far post  It'd be the sort of thing that JayK would put in his blooper reel and everyone would post it when they want to talk shit on the A-League. Halloran's been quite solid centrally and pushing forward, if not directly involved in any of the goals yet. Just six minutes to go.

FT 2-1 for Dusseldorf, exciting finish, ending with a FK with the losing side bringing up their goalie into the other box, love that.
Halloran was very decent albeit finding himself to be instrumentally influential, hopefully it'll still mean more first XI time for him.

This really puts the wheels back on Fortuna's season too, beating second on the table to jump right out of the relegation zone into ninth. Hopefully their manager can tell they're onto a good thing starting Halloran; if he plays a lot and they have a good season who knows where he'll be come June.
