Leckie & Ruka are playing a 5-a-side tournament involving a few clubs ranging from the Bundesliga to the Regionalliga. It's an indoor arena, futsal sized, astro turf (I think), regular ball, unlimited subs and you can bounce the ball off the sides like in ice hockey. Cool idea.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

playmaker11 wrote:Just browsing through some recent BVBII training pics and couldn't see Amini. Could be with the first team but can't confirm. Hopefully he might get a run in their upcoming friendlies. The fist team got back to training today and Dortmund has put pictures up on their facebook (https://www.facebook.com/BVBorussiaDortmund09). There was not a full squad from what I can tell, around 12-15 players I think. Now if Amini came home he would have one of the longer trips back but Langerak was there and if you were a youth player being called up to the first team you would think you would be first there and last to leave, so at the moment no sign of Amini but he still might get back. Also a lot of the injured midfielders are returning and will need fitness so they will probably use the friendlies for that.

In the short term, the difference between having a great World Cup and a non-existent World Cup depends on whether he stays at Celtic or leaves now. In the the long term, he's young, but not super young, and he needs to be getting game time, technical and tactical development. Celtic offers him none of those things. He needs all that immediately. In the long term, he needs to be somewhere like Holland or Germany.
Maybe his agent has him wrapped around his little finger. He's probably having the time of his life. Nothing stupid about enjoying your career.

From the official sites reports both seemed to have played and contributed to some goals. While it will not contribute a great deal with their ability playing on a smaller pitch would have been less about pace and more about skill and precision in terms of passing and dribbling which both need to work on. Also it will hopefully help turn around the teams terrible form of late with them doing something similar to Middlesbrough from last season. no highlights on youtube just yet but there is one video saying they will be 'coming soon'. Not really expecting to see anything that will want he to see them playing for the socceroos but sounds like and interesting tournament.

Irvine loan extended. Was hoping that with Ledley likely to leave Celtic and Kayal not impressing he may get a chance at CDM but the same time it does guarentee him a full season of first team football and an ok chance for the World Cup especially if someone pulls out. stuff coming out of Germany Robbie KruseIn bad training accident but seems better than what was first expected. Quote:relief after evil training accident
All of a sudden it was quiet as a mouse on the training ground in Lagos. The shock to see all, coach Sami Hyypia pale. Robbie Kruse (25) was collided during morning training with Dominik Kohr (19). The Australian national team was movement and unconscious on the floor. His whimpering in pain went through every bone and marrow. ► The Bayer doctors Karl-Heinrich Dittmar and Burak Yildirim stormed the square, rendered emergency assistance. After a few minutes, which seemed like an eternity, Kruse was finally back on his feet. He was sustained out to a golf trolley, from which it was removed. ► For lunch the all-clear: The "Aussie" was very lucky - Kruse retired "only" a severe neck bruised and lacked the afternoon session. When he re-loadable is - open! http://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/robbie-kruse/aufatmen-nach-boesem-trainings-unfall-34085006.bild.htmlLangerakNice to see Dortmund can rely on him and to be seen as one of the better number 2's in the league (not in this paragraph but seen it a few times before) but for the national team it has to be Ryan at the moment. Quote:Mitch Langerak 2.9 to 7/0 +0
Time Weidenfeller was injured, sometimes locked, sometimes he was spared - and so the Australian Langerak came to at least seven inserts. Showed consistently solid to good performance and proved that BVB can rely on him. Long the newly crowned national team is expected on the role as a number but do not have more fun two.

I also noticed with the Frankfurt picture leckie and Ruka are next to each other which is most likely not out of coincidence. Quote:HALLORAN: "ROBBIE KRUSE IS A BIG HELP FOR ME"
Dusseldorf - With six points from their last three games before the winter break, Fortuna Dusseldorf could for the time being expunged from the relegation battle and settle into midfield. Only six points separate the Rhine countries, despite the final 2:3 home defeat in the Rhine derby against 1 FC Cologne from relegation place.
in the remaining 15 games of the Fortuna wants to attack again above. Become an important player in the 21-year-old Australian midfielder could Ben Halloran be, who had last won a regular place. He introduced himself to the interview.
Question: Mr. Halloran, with what feelings you go into the winter break, how you appreciate the sporting situation of a Fortuna? Ben Halloran: We have again a good starting position. A few weeks ago we were really in trouble. Then we have two of the last three games won. Even though we lost the last game against Cologne, we have shown that we even have the best team of the 2nd Can keep Bundesliga. We can in the second half in the table certainly improve.
question: Why did it in the last game of 2013 was not enough in the derby against Cologne to a point? Halloran: The Cologne have scored three goals from their three chances. For us it was very difficult after the break 0-2 behind. Nevertheless, we have demonstrated our fighting spirit, came back and had then at the end a bit unlucky.
Question: How do you rate your own season so far? Halloran: In the end it was positive for me. I was able to complete the last four games. That was good. I had to get used to the German mentality. The training work is very different than in Australia. It was hard for me at the beginning of the season to join the team. I hope now that I can keep my current form of the last few weeks before Christmas and then regularly get to use in the second half.
Question: What are the biggest differences in training between Germany and Australia? Halloran: The intensity is higher in Germany. It is trained harder and more concentrated. The games are important, they mean the viewers much more here. In Australia it comes to relaxed. There, the professional football was introduced only ten years ago. There is a Germany a very different standard.
Question: My Australian predecessor in Dusseldorf, Robbie Kruse , has also used some time to durchzustarten right at Fortuna. He is now a recognized good player and even play with Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League. Are you in contact with him? Does he give you tips? Halloran: Yes. Many people have compared his career with mine. Robbie lives in Cologne and supported me very much. I can always come to him with questions. He is a great help for me.
Question: So how do you spend the winter break? When it comes to the home to Australia? Halloran: No, my family and my friends visit here. I'll break up with my family to visit with friends Skiing and then Eastern Europe. http://www.bundesliga.de/de/liga2/news/2013/robbie-kruse-ist-eine-grosse-hilfe-fuer-mich----ben-halloran---fortuna-duesseldorf---interview.phpYeboahLooks like Gladback is selling one of their U23 strikers (no first team appearences). Even though it is 4th division news pretty much it is still good that it gives him a better chance of playing some football. Quote:Sven Michel's a draft in the Lausitz Created on Friday, 10 January 2014 18:13    Written by Andreas Plum CHANGE TO FC Energie Cottbus
Borussia Mönchengladbach comes before the first departure of winter. U23 attacker Sven Michel is close to a move to Energie Cottbus. The second division has already agreed with the Borussia on the transfer arrangements. This was announced by the Lusatian on Friday announced on its website. For more information, want to give both clubs early next week.
While a successor is already gun with Kwame Yeboah on foot, it is not yet known whether Michel - is first given or sold - still equipped with VfL with a contract until the summer of 2015. In both clubs want to find in the coming week. Meanwhile it will be interesting whether the youngster in the Lausitz the jump will succeed long term in professional football. http://fohlen-hautnah.de/index.php/notiert/22776-sven-michel-zieht-s-in-die-lausitz.html

He must know the stupidity of staying where he is. There's nothing to be gained from it. People say he's young. But in football terms he's not that young.
Enjoying the lovely Glaswegian weather and cuisine and enjoying sitting on the bench (if not watching on telly) the World Cup? Way too narrow. Plenty of footballers have the time of their life when they aren't playing.

Thanks Cheers and Bowden Amini out for 10 weeks. Quote:Amini suffers bone compression
The second team of Borussia Dortmund will be without several weeks on an important key players: Due to a bone compression Mustafa Amini falls from up to ten weeks. The 20-year-old missed by the first half of the season. When you start training with it, however, were a new addition and two more injured.

what a shame. He was doing very well to hold a starting spot for bvb 2. People look at the league and say whats the big deal its just buli 3. Then you look at the resumes of the other central mids he is competing with for a starting spot and you realize that starting in his position is as impressive as starting for a middle to top belgium team and should really have him in world cup contention

I am hoping because of this Kruse will get more gametime as they know Sam is leaving and can prove they might not need and amazing new right wing and perhaps strengthen elsewhere. Also going as a free they might not want to spend a ton

Transfermarkt just updated their prices for the championship and all Aussies (Williams, Lowry, McDonald, Federici) decreased in value according to them and to be honest I would agree.

The Bundesliga official youtube channel streamed two friendlies today so be on the lookout of a Leverkusen one (I would also say BvB for Langerak but they are normally him standing still for 90 mins)

Needs slightly better results though. in his 8 games they have 0 clean sheets and 3 points, all from draws. His team has 10 points from 20 games, they are hardly 1.HNL quality.

Lustica played for Hadjuk's first team who are a far better side and I wouldn't have him anywhere near the Socceroos

Very true although I believe you can be playing well even in a losing team who is conceding goals not sure of the exact situation with his club but his team mates could be very weak in comparison to him and the rest of the league?. Dont know myself as I dont watch the league but hopefully Ange will have a look for him self.

Makes me wish he was at a smaller club getting 90 mins a week. Hadn't seen most of those Assists and some of the goals but that was world class. Really impressed with how good he is with his left foot can pretty much use both equally as well. 90 mins a game at the world cup without a doubt.
