Awesome they're both starting. Where does Sarota play for Utrecht?

Right wing forward in a 4-3-3. Kruse's position. Interesting leading up to World Cup.

Seems the logical replacement then as he's playing at a high level. Surprised his name hasn't been mentioned more.

I find that strange to be honest, I didn't realise he had the desired speed off the mark for a modern winger.

Amazing distribution from deep though. The thing that stood out for me when I saw his debut for Roar (and his first few games) was his ability to spray an accurate long ball out wide and switch the play. Was very much akin to Wehrman or Burns at their best.

Really interesting career shift for Adam, well done to him for probably making the biggest impact of the Aussies at Urtecht.

Been injured for most of the season. Plus if kruse wasn't injured he would hardly get a mention. I think in the past he has played more as a right centre mid in the 4-3-3 so I'm not sure if he is known for his attacking play. Nor do I know how good he is at crossing.

Anyone seen him play this season?

Can't remember the specifics of his game as I watched him a while ago but I remember him playing on the right side of a midfield diamond, with his ground passing being more of a feature. Also I'm fairly sure he would have come into squad calculations regardless of Kruse's injury

You little beauty! Always felt sorry for him. He was stuck behind some quality strikers at GCU.

I think at another HAL club, he probably could have made a solid impact.

Bozanic is finally back. Starting against Grasshopper.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

And scored again in extra time to win it, against Tampines who ended the game with nine players lol.

Winner plays Chonburi and then Beijing Guoan.

imo oar could be better than kruse if last years eredivisie form is anything to go on

Wilkinson's over in Brazil with Jeonbuk playing friendlies. Also a bunch of Japanese, Korean and Chinese teams over in Europe playing sides from the top leagues in Poland, Romania, Russia. Wilkshire played against Beijing Guoan a few days ago.

I think A-League clubs should really follow suit if they can afford it, or at least certainly play other Asian clubs. Then again it did sweet FA for Sydney this season.

Utrecht vs Ajax

Be interesting to see if Ange sticks with a 4-2-3-1 considering kruse is out and Bresciano won't be playing in competitive matches.

A move to a 4-3-3 could suit the players we have

Bresciano will have heaps of time to get match-fit. Regardless, I'd rather we played a midfield diamond with Oar wide on the left. Milligan, Sarota and Rogic/Breciano the other three. Or play Oar as the #10 behind Cahill and Leckie, with Milligan, Sarota and Jedinak as the other 3 midfielders.

TBH I've never rated Oar. I found him to be one trick pony based on his speed. When he comes up against defenders that can match him for pace he doesn't really offer that much. Hopefully him and Ange can prove me wrong in the world cup.

needs more goals , granted he's w winger but he should really be averaging 5-10 goals a season, he does get a lot of assists but chipping in some goals would take him to the next level..

Davidson played well in his side's 3-0 this morning apparently. back out on the left got an 8.0, the third best on his team. 2 key passes, 3 out of his 4 crosses wee accurate, 2 out of his 3 long balls wee accurate and played 41 passes at 91% accuracy. hopefully some extended highlights will show some of his good work

With our centre back stocks taking a bit of a hit recently, do either of you reckon he is a chance at filling one of the CB spots? Or has his performances for Heracles at LB far outweighed those as a centre defender?

Actually in his one game at cb he was above average for his season. His last four games though he has been a class above the league. Young players can be inconsistent though. I think he has improved since his last roos game and I remember seeing his stats improved after that game. Same thi g happened with williams before he was injured

There's an old adage that you don't strengthen one position by weakening another. The loss of Williams is massive but there are other CB options while at LB we have next to two thirds of fkall.

Also good to hear DeVere is back playing. Talented boy, very unlucky with injuries.

Some People here seem to have the wrong idea of Oar and when it comes to judging his performances. And i think it just comes down to a misconception of the style of player they thinki he is.

Oar has had a slow, not to spectacular season thus far, but let it be said he was top class last season and made many team of the weeks and i think even team of the year if i remember correctly. He was also class in the Costa Rica friendly and our last Qualifier.

Where people get it wrong i think, is there expectations and what role many want him to offer. Because the fact is Oar isnt exactly your direct, speedster of a winger, hugging the touchline, getting around players whipping in crosses and geting on the end of through balls for a walcot style finish. Hes a creative attacking player, wether it be on the left or centre, and is at his best when his short and long passing game come to the fore, his left foot is dead accurate wether it be deep crosses or set pieces, and he actualy seems to blossom when dribbling through traffic in the middle of the field, not down the flanks one on one.

Long story short weve fallen in love with the direct and flair of Kruse, we want more of the same from Oar. Completely different players though. My little analogy or way to put it and excuse the exageration. But Oar is like a "Hazard" style player, you build a teams attacking style around them to reap the benefits. Kruse is like a "Robben" style, hes direct, skillful and capitalises on the space and balls provided to him.
