Wouldn't really blame Sainsbury TBH. Looked to me like the ball got played behind him and he had to readjust to try and get something on it. Just a bit of bad luck it ended up straight at the opposing striker's feet. PS. From twitter. Quote: Trent Sainsbury @Tsainsbury92 28m First game and 3pts :) Once nerves settled I started to relax n enjoy it. Knee is sore, hopefully given all clear tomorrow #feelingthelove

Bloody hell, after watching the higher quality replay it really was bloody hash to solely blame Sainsbury, especially after the horrible excuse for a pass by Zwolle's RB that gave away the ball immediately before that, and the fact that the Utrecht striker still had to beat two defenders with some beautiful touches after it.

hopefully Sainsbury comes back immediately, could be a big month for him. one of their first choice CB's is out for a month and will probably replace Sainsbury when he gets back. the thing Sainsbury has in his favour is I think the other guy is leaving at the end of the season to twente on a free so if the club sees Sainsbury as good enough he could be first choice.

Yes but the ball never should have got to the striker from that sort of cross..

Even though Sainsbury is right footed I think there's a good chance Zwolle will replace the LCB with him when Lachman returns from injury.

Yes but the ball never should have got to the striker from that sort of cross.. That sort of cross needs to be blocked by the right back, thought it was very well hit without Oar breaking his stride and putting curve on it. What Oar was trying to do was suprise his man with a sudden burst of pace and hopefully one of the strikers would have headed for the gap between the goal keeper and the last line, Sainsbury anticipated that and had that gap covered. As it was strikers didn;t read his intentions and so Oar has to try and squeeze it in front of the right back and behind Sainsbury to his lazy strikers who were lagging behind the defence. I'll have to start seeing Zwolle play, so I can get a good judgement on how he goes against the best Dutch League forwards. I'm hoping he's one young CB who can kick on and play for a big club.

Just went and grabbed a couple of articles about Sainsbury after his debut. tried to highlight relevant parts. One article called it "successful" and the manager did say he was a little jetlagged still which are both good signs, well playing well with jetlag is a good sign not being jetlagged. Only played because of 2 injuries but if he can settle quickly he will hopefully be able to find a permanent place in the side before they get back. Also funny how Patrick Zwaanswijk translated to Patrick Swan Quarter Quote:Skippy 'injured in debut for PEC
Our Telesport Editors UTRECHT - Because of the injuries Darryl Lachman and Maikel van der Werff Australian acquisition Trent Sainsbury against FC Utrecht was right on the bucket back to PEC Zwolle. "Because of his jumping ability, I have given him the nickname Skippy," joked Ron Jans advance. "Skippy and Flipper used to be my favorite childhood series."
The successful debut of 'Skippy' had a dark side, because Sainsbury's had to leave. Injured the field "I slid my knee on a sprinkler. It's a bruise. Hopefully it falls, "said the defender, who was dissatisfied with his debut. "It was decent, but I was a little uneasy at the ball." http://www.telegraaf.nl/telesport/voetbal/pec-zwolle/22278094/__Blessure__Skippy__bij_debuut_PEC__.htmlQuote:The Australian, acquired last week from Central Coast Mariners , start at the base of the away match with FC Utrecht . "I once looked deep into his eyes and he can play," notes De Telegraaf from the mouth of coach Ron Jans on. "He still has some jetlag, but he has just last week with Central Coast Mariners of Newcastle Jets won, so he is fit. " Sainsbury needs to fry, because last Saturday in the home encounter with Roda JC right two got injured central defenders. Maikel van der Werff suffered a thigh injury on. His replacement Darryl Lachman , who just returned from a hamstring injury, went through his ankle. John: "Some things can not be predicted in advance, we have attracted him Friday, and a day later in the match against Roda we lose two central defenders So that's a coincidence, but this guy has quality Why should it or not.... throw it deep? " PEC Zwolle got Sainsbury in sight when technical director Gerard Nijkamp last month was tipped over the central defender of the Central Coast Mariners . "We were not given the opportunity to go to Australia to fly, "explains Nijkamp in AD Sportwereld out. "The scouting techniques here, we did get a good picture of him. And from our network because we only heard positive feedback." For example, was Han Berger, technical director of the Australian Football Association, asked for his opinion on Sainsbury. Also Patrick Swan Quarter was consulted to a picture of the son of Graham Arnold get. (ex-NAC) "They played in almost all races together in the back. Patrick raved about Trent. He said we had to put on because he has talent, a big step to put us, and maybe he still can achieve much more. Him immediately" http://www.elfvoetbal.nl/nieuws/326519_jans-gooit-pec-zwolle-aanwinst-direct-voor-de-leeuwen

Just had the chance to watch the Utrecht/PEC Zwolle game and was pleasantly surprised by how well Sainsbury actually did.
Looked a bit nervous in the first twenty minutes or so and made a couple of mistakes including the goal. However after that he was solid. The period between the start of the second half and his injury in particular I thought he looked very good. Won a number of aerial duels and did a good job of cleaning up any balls that weren't pinpoint perfect to the strikers. Did not look out of place whatsoever.
One thing that does concern me though is the extent of his injury after seeing it. He was limping pretty badly after the knock. Tried to walk it off but then completely buckled after he attempted a pass and had to be subbed off. Honestly can't see how he'd be ready for Sunday night's game.

Leckie is great on the ball. Takes the man on and almost sets up Ruka who is playing as a striker.

Leckie let the ball roll through and Ruka hit it and it deflected in. Both are playing well and Leckie is near perfect on the ball.

Ball is cleared by FSV, Ruka gets to it and sends Leckie through only for his defender to sweep it across to another FSV payer who dribbles and puts it away. Good vision and linking play by the Roo players there.

Ruka's goal, nice bit of skill by Leckie, wouldn't be surprised if it was given to the guy it deflected off.
