So without counting their 3rd choice keeper they actually only have 4 internationals of which 2 are from AFC. That's odd, must have got his paperwork through too late or something. Its because he is not really that good. If the coach has signed a foreign reserve keeper you have to wonder if Nichols got conned into being backup . They offered peanuts for Nichols and then are paying Forlan 5.8 million a year.

I wonder how their fans feel? A quick search on twitter and most of the time the fans hashtag #socceroos when they mention him. Someone must've gave them some dodgy info..

Yeboah came off the bench in a 4-1 win over Dusseldorf II. Hopefully he gets back to being a starter next week.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Man following J-League news is really tough. From what I can tell it looks like Nichols simply isn't making the squad and will have to wait for an opportunity. Kennedy is starting and Arnold's campaign begins today too.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Nah bro they totally went from being a feudal, twice-nuked, foreign occupied bombsite to an economic, industrial and technological world power within a generation by making rash commercial decisions like blowing half a million bucks and their Asian +1 spot after sticking with a lengthy transfer negotiation on a player they don't want to play.

With Kruse out one of Kennedy/Cahill has to be on the park at all times for the WC. Both are getting on a bit but they just score to many goals to be left out of a starting XI. Think you can combat their old legs by giving them 60/30 mins a game.

Kennedy should start as our number nine.
I'd put Leckie on the right. Cahill as impact sub early in second half

Cahill's virtues as an impact sub are renown, and as I've said before, even Ange isn't so indisposed to the traditional number nine to see that Kennedy is our only saviour to put home counters in our group. And yes, pun intended.

He'll definitely play but hard to say whether he'll be a regular. I think he was in and out with injury/fitness issues towards the end of the season. Last thing I saw of him was a pre-season friendly over in Europe against Maribor a few of weeks ago.

New manager didn't know what he was doing and repeated injuries kept him on the sidelines. Edited by byun_fan_671: 2/3/2014 02:13:44 AM

Irvine, D. McGowan and Holland all playing. Luca$h on the bench. Holland's been alright, just shame Vienna aren't nearly as good as last season. Hopefully McGowan can land a deal with another SPL club because Hearts are going down... not sure how likely that is though. Fun fact: John Sutton who was over here with CCM for a little while is now at Motherwell, started 25 out of 26 matches and bagged 14 goals so far.

4-0 win for Watford, with CB Essaïd Belkalem coming on for Gabriele Angella, so it seems Neill is fourth choice.

Given he was rubbish for CCM over here. I noticed it too that he seemed to be chipping in with goals.

To an extent it does, considering that Mckay and Rogic barely got any game-time over there it may just show how different players can suit different systems or not.
