Kruse didn't get a minute against Marseille. He is part of the training camp though, I believe. Brugge will play Brondy on Jul 31 and Aug 7 in Europa League qualifying. They have to get to the group stage.

Ikonomidids seems to have done well overnight playing LW in the second half. Indonesia's U23s probably not the best opposition though.

Quote:
REPLAY - E' una Lazio sinistra, brilla Oikonomidis insieme al solito Keita.

Quote:
END SECOND TIME

90 'TRIPLE BOO! The Lazio takes 2 to 0 Indonesia's Under-23 through the signatures of Pereirinha and Djordjevic. Good overall performance of Lazio involved in the first real test of the level of the season.

85 'low cross from the right side of Konko for Oikonomidis evidence that the joke right in the center of the area: the riveted ends on the feet of Radu tries a left at the near post. Andrhiyasa not surprise you and deflects for a corner

80 'Dangerous also Indonesia: Utomo hit the post in Strakosha beaten after a ride on the left wing

79 'Another conclusion of the Romanian full-back that well placed shot high over the bar

71 'We also test Radu from the left with a poisonous diagonally from the edge of the area narrowly missed the top corner

70 'Oikonomidis, one of the best in this second portion of the game, try right from the edge of just high over the crossbar

67 'Again, the danger that Serbia's cross Oikonomidis dramatically affects the crossbar from a good position

65 'Doubling of Lazio! Descent from the left Vinicius ball in the middle to split the winning Djordjevic, which leads to almost undefended, bags the lead to 2 to 0

63 'Felipe Anderson tries a volley on the launch of the excellent Oikonomidis. The end of the end, however, the Brazilian star

62 'Another error by Djordjevic favorable position of head misses the target

56 'free kick from the edge: Ledesma fishing Djordjevic face to face with the goalkeeper tries a lob. The touch of Serbia, however, is inaccurate and fails to override Andrhiyasa

52 'Change among the ranks of Indonesia: Aldeir outside and inside with the number 10 Munawar

50 'header Djordjevic who misses the target after the cross of Oikonomidis

49 'leave with his foot on the biancocelesti trying now to crush the Indonesians in their own half of the field

46 'Change the face Lazio Strakosha between the posts, always defensive line with four Konko, Cana, Filipinos and Radu. A midfield trio of new Antic, Ledesma and Vinicius. In attack Felipe Anderson and Oikonomidis the sides of the one tip Djordjevic

Should have had an assist. Here are the full highlights, he only features in one at 5:08. teammate stuffs up an easy finish.

Would love to see him at least in the initial squad. Would be huge for him to play a few first team matches at a club like Lazio. The experience he would be getting over there would be huge.
Just seems like he has so much upside.

Well obviously, but it's still a good sign, and I'll take it. It's not like they just pick anyone at random from the youth team to get a run, they clearly see something in him.

Think people missed the fact Williams played and was reportedly quite impressive. I'm hoping he can feature heavily for Fulham this season may give the opportunity to move Kruse centrally.

Snippet from the match report

"Shortly after, the Colombian went even closer. Ryan Williams caught Joe Walsh in possession and fed Cauley Woodrow, who spotted Rodallega in space to his left but, after steadying himself, the frontman saw his powerful low effort pushed behind by Brian Jensen.

It then looked as though Williams had made it three, but his wicked left-footer from range just missed the target with Jensen beaten.

Direct running from Williams then culminated in him finding substitute Dembélé in the area. The young Frenchman drove in a vicious shot which was deflected over, before glancing wide his header from the resultant corner."

Here is an article about Lazio's transfer plans. They are suggesting Oikonomidis will be the youth teams captain this year. Now I personally was hoping he would be in the senior squad and even if he made only a few sub appearances he would be training with the first team but I wouldn't call the dreadful news either. Being given the captaincy especially in an attacking position is good news. He is still doing better than 90% of players his age. Also this is the last season he can play in the youth team so in the second half of the season Lazio should be making a decision on him which could lead to either a loan, his promotion or in the worst case scenario he is dropped but I am sure he could find a team back home. Of course this is not official so the situation could still change.

Quote:
Young.

Lazio rely on Pioli a staff of 26-27 elements (including young people), the rose will be established on 1 September, the day on which end on the market. To date there are 29 players in retirement (they were 27, were added Minala and Tounkara, the pits are Berisha and Rozzi.) will leave many young people, the idea of the company is sending them out on loan, let them play for those transfers. E 'success by Cataldi (she weaned the Crotone in Serie B), is back stronger, ready to jump in A. It can happen with the other baby. The diesse Tare is proud of the boys sing, the successes of Spring have revealed their talent. Lazio, for some years, can boast the best young people on the national scene. Minala Tounkara and will not move along with Cataldi. Crecco is already at the center of various negotiations, will be reflected in loan even Filipinos (like Pioli, is using it a lot, but he needs to play), Vinicius, and Elez Antic. Rozzi will start also (is back from loan at Real Madrid Castilla ) while Oikonomidis will continue in the spring (it will be the captain). Strakosha should remain as third goalkeeper, many requests, the company plans to keep it, the future is his. On the market there are Alfaro and Cavanda. It may start one of Novaretti and Ciani. Poised Lulic, Onazi and Gonzalez. Marchetti is said to be more clear if it will remain in August.

Everton FC wrote:
Jones' Pro Deal Delight
Wednesday 23rd July 2014 12:40 by Daniel AlstonTwitter@efc_danalston

Gethin Jones is targeting a regular role for Everton Under-21s this season after putting pen-to-paper on his first professional contract.

The Welsh youth international was part of the Blues' Under-18 league winning side last term and also made 12 appearances for the Club's second-string.

And ahead of Wednesday evening's pre-season friendly at Wrexham, the right-back says he is keen to make his new one-year deal count.

"I am really happy to sign," the 18-year-old told evertontv. "I can’t really believe it. It was really hard last year, especially the last three months, and I was getting quite nervous about whether or not I would get a new deal.

"We were doing really well, ended up winning the league and there was tough competition for places in the team.

"So you had to play well every week and to be rewarded for that by being offered a professional contract is fantastic. I am over the moon."

Born in Australia, Jones has been at Everton since the age of 12 and in recent years has adapted to the full-back position from central midfield.

He skippered Kevin Sheedy's side to glory in the Premier League final at Goodison Park in May and believes the experience can aid him in the latest stage of his development.

"It was great to be the captain," he continued. "Being able to lead the team out during the season, especially at places like Goodison and the Emirates, was a great honour to take on.

"This season, hopefully I can start well and then progress as the season goes on. Hopefully I can get into the starting XI [for the Under-21s] every week and, if I do well, maybe I can progress into the first-team squad."

Everton Under-21s’ pre-season friendly against Wrexham kicks off at 7.30pm this evening [23 July] at Cefn Druids FC.
