I will never understand how players allow themselves to loose fitness at times like this, he has been looking for a new club and would want to make a good impression and start breaking into the team straight away you would imagine. Even if he couldn't train with a club it's not that hard to put in the work by yourself to keep yourself up to fitness.

You'd think it'd make more sense to have players lacking in match fitness playing in preseason friendlies like these rather than missing them.
