Giannou's game. Scored the first and third. Both off crosses, second much better. Decent. Wonder why he doesn't get a look in. How does the Greek league stack up to the HAL? Thought Ange would have people there watching him, you know, Greek connections and all... My thoughts exactly. Especially with his Greek contacts and Giannou's form for a while now. This was the first game of their season.

round 2 of the Capital One Cup could see some of our guys in action over night.
Brentford - Fulham - hopefully Taggart is fit and can feature, also Williams a chance to start again. Crew v Bolton - Inman likely to start Millwall v Sth Hampton - MacDonald likely to feature Scunthorpe v Reading - Feds chance to bounce back from the big loss to Forest and Ryan Edwards a likely starter. Swindon v Brighton - Luongo might be under an injury cloud, Smith also a chance to start Walsall v C Palace - jedi likely to lead them out , without a manger signed yet they need a confidence boosting win, jedi to lead from the front.
I really hope Taggart gets a chance if fit, fulham have started poorly which could help his case as the manager Magath looks to find that winning combination.

The only chance Feds and Edwards have of starting is if Reading are giving up on the cup for the sake of not getting first teasers injured. They have a big injury list already and there has been some suggestion that they might field a B team in the cup to avoid more injuries to big players.

Would you consider Edwards Bteam.?. i would .. and Feds is still arguably 2nd choice keeper...

Yeah, some reading fans on their forum haven't even listed him an a bench player for this upcoming match. The fans seem very split of Federici and McCarthy, but after a big loss, I suspect we'll see McCarthy resume as number 1

McCarthy is clearly rated higher than Fedders, just could be leaving.
Edwards is a squaddie who had a good pre-season but hasn't played a full game yet.

Amini on the bench for BVBII... Irvine isn't making any of the Celtic squads. Time for another loan I'd say.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Edwards on bench. I can't find any on Jedinak yet.
Wright not in squad, he ok?

Nice to see the manager has faith in Davidson to take penalties, after all he scored the winner to make the score 7-6 after 2 of his team mates had already missed. So he's officially scraped into their top 10 penalty takers in a weakened squad for the league cup! Good stuff!

He just might have been the 9th best Pen taker in the XI, do you exactly know all players involved? Be that as it may, being the new boy, the other lads in the team naturally have the way and led in taking the pens.

Great stuff from all the Aussies that played last night in the league cup, Davidson, Weslowski, Smith, Luongo, Kilkenny, Ryan Williams (no Tagz or Burgess though), Federici, Edwards, and Inman. That's a long list.
Is it also worth mentioning that Davidson's penalty was against a Kiwi keeper, Max Crocome?
Herd might well start tonight in the League Cup too.

On second thoughts, it might be encouraging that Burgess, like Jedi, didn't play, as it might indicate that he's a first pick player?

Another option would be for him to go on loan to a Bundesliga 2 club for this season as opposed to sitting on the pine in Bundesliga 3 just so he can sit on the pine in the Bundesliga.

Really make or break year for Amini. He isn't going to develop any more playing the bundelsliga third tier. I suppose he's at the age now he will either sent away on loan or transferred if he can't break into the first team.

Amini at a 2.Bundesliga side wouldn't be a bad thing. Probably wouldn't be a starter yet though.

Kruse not in Leverkusen squad who lead Copenhagen 3:0 after 30mins. They're 100% into the CL and it's frustrating he can't come on for some practice.

Cansdell-Sherriff played for Burton Albion in a 1:0 win over QPR. Herd was on the bench for Villa who lost 1:0 to Leyton Orient. Can't see if Herd got game time or not.
Interesting with Cansdell-Sherriff who is another 99 WC finalist. Surely his story has been discussed here but it's a shame he has never gotten a full cap considering the number of hacks who have.
