Or Ange already rated Brilliante before the World Cup (see 26 man squad) and is taking the opportunity to check out a player he already rates in a friendly. Hold your matrix batman, mind bending indeed! grazorblade wrote:Tommy oar got 8 key passes! Is he playing centrally oar out wide? Edited by andytoddselbow: 31/8/2014 01:05:40 PM

It will be a miracle if Brilliante plays 2 more games for Fiorentina this season. His poor passing was too much of a liability that he couldn't even make it until half time. that's a bit harsh. davidson and brilliante were scouted by their respective teams and have both performed well in preseason. they both would have been nervous as fk and in teams that got dominated. the only shit thing here is that they have really been pointed out so early without a decent chance to settle in so we can actually see how they perform as part of the unit.

ITT: Negative Nancy central.
Brillante was started out of position on the right of midfield according to whoscored, which suggests confidence in the manager to select him over someone more natural to that role. It's also being glossed over that Brilliante was replaced by winger/striker Josip Ilicic five minutes after the goal, so for all we know the manager wanted an attacking change for the team generally as they were trailing.
I don't have telepathic knowledge of the inner workings of Vincenzo Montella's mind, but nor does anyone else in this thread, so lighten up.
Brilliante got 5.47 from whoscored, Mario Gomez also only got 5.97. Just two games for him this season too?

Hopefully they both can recover from it, I want egg on my face.
Anyway, even if they don't make it, fantastic achievements to get where they have.

Did I miss this or is this new news? Quote:Curtis Good has already been ruled out for the remainder of the season because of a hip/pelvis injury he sustained in March, while Ryan Taylor has cruciate ligament troubles that are unlikely to be remedied in the foreseeable future.

Jovanovic started Brugge v Anderlecht tonight, plus Zwolle and Ingolstadt
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Happens all the time, clubs don't always like to release players because they want to use them for themselves. Not to mention if he wasn't 100% and injured on nt duty for a friendly and was out for the rest of the season his team would be less than pleased. I think they are banking on him having a good season so they can push for promotion or sell him on for a tidy profit.

Possible stupid question, but don't they have to release Leckie as it's during the international match day period? If he's fit enough to play club football you'd think he's fit enough for international duty.

Unless the club said look he's not 100% and we were happy to let him sit this one out. I can't be sure enough to say, someone on here will have that knowledge surely. Could be a bit of deception on the clubs behalf too, who knows. Edited by The Frenchman: 31/8/2014 10:33:02 PM
