Tanner with a "thunderbolt" hitting the woodwork according to the club's twitter. They'll face the winners of Accrington Stanley vs Manchester United in the quarter finals. The fact that Tanner is still only 17 and playing for there under 21s is a good sign. Hopefully he can kick on and get into the first team fold in the next couple of years.

Also apparently Panos Armenakas has been invited to train with the Udinese first team, against he is only 16. It looks like he's rated quite highly by the team team staff. Les Murray tweeted it. I think he's another midfielder, a No.10 or a inside forward…I hope we don't lose him to Greece or the US.

Talk Van Basten will quit from managing AZ due to poor health Quote:BASTEN OF STOPS AT AZ
From our Telesport Editors Marco van Basten stops as coach of AZ. The former top burner was originally resume his work after the coming weekend. Perhaps he will stay on as an advisor to the club. The heir is Alex Pastor, who currently already working as interim coach and so far was an assistant to Van Basten. http://www.telegraaf.nl/telesport/voetbal/az/23071950/__Van_Basten_stopt_bij_AZ__.htmlEDIT: sorry I said he already has this is not confirmed yet Edited by moofa: 12/9/2014 04:33:45 PM

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

He was in a team that spent up to get promotion and then must have run out of money. His team then cut costs but Kruse out of the blue almost kept them up. Higashi wrote:Leckie with another goal. Also hit the post earlier. Ingolstadt now top of the table. Leckie has been smart. Keep playing Bundesliga 2 and further develop. We have some good players but I think they are just shy of being World Class. In time it will come and Leckie will develop into a better player. By comparison Davidson got too far ahead of himself and may see his development hampered.

Hopefully he can bang a few in for the Socceroos. How have Ingolstadt been playing him? Is he a bit more central?

Been watching leckie for them a bit. He has been brilliant. Some of his passages of play and ability to make something from nothing have been awesome. Will be interesting to see if he can do it at a higher level.

Yes robbie kruse didnt play in buli 2 it was a pretty amazing story the year before iirc ruka dominated buli 2 and struggled to step up to buli when promoted. It was an interesting contrast
leckie has been good though

Edit: being subbed on right now in the 65th minute.

By comparison Davidson got too far ahead of himself and may see his development hampered. I think if the boys play smart they can handle it 1st or 2nd division clubs/leagues. Try to respect the club and the players if they're new boys and not step on too many toes while they're trying to make a living and get better as individuals. Hardest thing would be getting distracted by all the intangibles, insecurities.. dealing with the hype etc and putting in a consistently high performance without getting distracted by i.e. Brilliante, not living up to the expectations people put on you. I think we expect better but it doesn't leave much room for error or bad performances I think if they're genuinely good players the manager will give them the nod and so they should be on the field. They've earned the right Edited by highkick05: 13/9/2014 02:24:13 PM

Rose scores in the 94th minute, picking up a deflection in the box with a wicked volley, 3-2!
In fine form at the moment, that makes three goals in two games.

Who have I missed? Who is in this game? have you mixed up Lokomotiv Moskva and Lokomotiva Zagreb who has Mrcela Anyway they played last night and had a 2-2 draw with RNK Split (the team below them in the table). Here are the highlights. Don't know how long he played but you can see him on Split's second goal, he is number 5. I wouldn't say either were his fault.
