+1. As long as he starts regularly over the next couple of weeks/months there's no reason why he shouldn't be in the frame for LB. Davidson has looked a bit gash lately, albeit at the highest level.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Who is in this game? have you mixed up Lokomotiv Moskva and Lokomotiva Zagreb who has Mrcela

Anyway they played last night and had a 2-2 draw with RNK Split (the team below them in the table). Here are the highlights. Don't know how long he played but you can see him on Split's second goal, he is number 5. I wouldn't say either were his fault.

Oops, my eyes read Lokomotiv but my brain thought Torpedo. My bad.

I think it's just the limitations of international football. Oar, Leckie, Halloran, Kruse - in an ideal world we'd see them tested out all over the pitch, but I guess it's just too hard to get those systems in place.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

they call it the rhombus, the shape shifts. he will play from the centre/right and float left with another guy on the left wing and they use numbers up the left.

he has said before that he does not feel effective when he is stuck out wide. he gets dangerous when he can float in and ange let him do it v the saudis and it was his best performance in some time.

next NT game. if he starts on the left expect the roo's to play a little narrower on the left and oar to be a little more involved. atm he is greatly underutilised under ange.

Indeed! This was discussed by Oar and Ange post-Saudi game - or discussed subtlely, indirectly. Ange asked him to be 'more involved' whatever that meant (More on the ball, involved in play) and Oar duly sought to do so. This will hopefully manifest in Oar tactically approaching games in a way similar to Utrecht role, even if it's not entirely the same, but atleast giving him more freedom to roam or float inside - it may even be tactically beneficial for our side and it's effectiveness, breaking down inferior teams, if an Oar, say, switches positionally with Bresc during the game - allowing Oar to do more chasing down, relieving Bresc of that task and too drawing defenders out of position and getting Oar involved, getting markers off Bresc or away from the middle etc...

As I discussed before too, Oar can also drop deeper to receive and help build up transition, while Davidson overlaps? Davidson is handy on the overlap and he can do the running and pressing while Oar sits back a lil and delivers the passes through or deeper crosses?

Either one or the other or even both - that would atleast see Oar covering far more of the pitch and more involved in our play on-the-ball, somehow. And in switching with Bresc, there might be added benefits for Bresc aswell - if it can be worked out right? :-k

tommy oar the 6th highest rated player in the netherlands!

at the end of 2 seasons ago he was 7th highest so he is back at that form

he has a whopping 6 key passes per game the most in the league (incidentally wilkshire is 4th in that department)

That's good to hear.
I think people are way too harsh on Tommy sometimes and forget he is still only 22.
Hopefully he goes on to bigger and better things real soon.

Ryan doing well for Brugge at the moment, good game against Racing Genk.

No Brillante in the starting XI for Fiorentina against Genoa. Don't know if he's on the bench or not.

Ridiculous statement. Most national teams are not much above HAL standard, and many are lower. Obviously the top of international football is a high standard, but the top of club football will always be higher.

This myth of the 'international standard' is a load of shit that 2 seconds of thought puts to shame.

they dont even need to switch.

if davidson pushes up on the wing he is comfortable. then you have oar and bresc in the middle feeding.

the second dm milligan/jedi can swing left to cover for davidson.

in essence you get

rb---------------cb------------cb
--------------------------jedi--------->>------millsy
---------------bresc--------------oar--<<<
leckie-----------------cahill--------------davidson/smith

using the fullback as an alternative to the dm pushing forward and essentially giving you 2 creative mids in the front 1/3 and potentially pulling their FB out of position if he tracks in on oar.

i'd rather see bresc out of the team and a 4411 with leckie behind cahill. but that probably puts halloran on the wing
Although I did think Troisi did well in the wc.

so,
