Great highlights form Leckie. Did anyone watch the game? He seemed to be playing as a winger but was often starting quite narrow.

paladisious wrote:Unstickied due to (lack of) popular demand. Unfortunately this forum's format it pretty terrible at telling you when a thread has a new post other than it being at the top so stickied threads are often ignored. On this topic though I think there is still problems with Aussies abroad being a thread. Firstly there is still less discussion than there is interest imo. Mat Ryan's Europa league performance was posted in here and at it's own thread. On it's own it had enough for a second page. Here, virtually nothing. Now this may be down to a the people who see the individual thread just go in and post repetitive shit about Milligan > Ryan (that's right I think) but I still think discussion is a good thing. The thing with an individual thread is there is no knowing about what is being discussed inside. This is fine for Club threads as a club is pretty specific and fans want most news about their club. Aussies abroad talks about various players in different times in there careers at different levels and so often people may come in and the discussion is on someone they are not interested in, once this happens a few times they will stop coming. This isn't to say it isn't popular, this thread it gets more than twice the amount of replies of the next most popular thread in Australian football (MV supporters) in the same amount of time. Now I know I am a lowly pro but I would like to put forward the idea of Aussies Abroad getting it's own subforum inside Australian Football. Firstly because there is demand for this news and a subforum provides much more appropriate functionality/visibility compared to a thread. It would stay in a similar spot to a sticky but it is still easier to see when there is a new post and it also tells you what thread the post is in so someone in Australian football would know what the discussion is on. In terms of format instead of having every news article posted as a new thread we could have threads for each major player (players around socceroos), youth/reserve players, rumors of players going overseas/transfer rumors, region threads for players possibly not meeting other requirements (ie Asia) and a match day thread for during and immediate post game discussions. Now especially around Socceroo matches there will obviously be discussion about Aussies abroad in the main Australian football forum so the subforum will be more to do with club new which already happens with this thread. Having individual player threads would also help people who do not visit daily missing news on a player they are interested in which may be buried normally if it is more than one page back and in the middle of a couple of other stories. tl;dr lets get our own subforum

Definitely played winger, but kept switching flanks so he ended up with a lot of runs through the middle. Also made a lot of runs to the back post which I like to see.

i agree with this enormously. there should also be a socceroos/NT sub forum which covers all national teams. if EA sports can get its own subforum --when no one uses it--- then I think we have a case. Edited by inala brah: 30/11/2014 12:44:50 PM

Similar sort of problem when threads get stickied.

Alarmingly concerning that most of our players are either are in the bench and not many are starting.

Aussies Abroad doesn't get much of a pissing match that other topic gets (good) if their was more discussion, then it would turn it to a pissing match real fast
i like Aussies Abroad, because it update me on players who are playing, that i can easy forget about , like yesterday, Tim Cahil MSL match

Sainsbury and Ryan both start for their respective sides. Big games for both.

Amini played 88 minutes Ryan doing pretty well. Could've done better for Anderlecht's 2nd goal. Just made a top save
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

I don't think he's allowed to in Italy, the "reserves" there is the Primavera, the U20's, and there's nothing in between that and the first team. From following Lazio's Primavera games for Ikonomidis I don't think they're allowed to play overage players like they are here in the NYL, so I guess it's bench, loan, or go home for Josh. Ryan made a good 1v1 save and Brugge equalized in the last few minutes. Entertaining game.

Dortmund down 1:0 in Frankfurt after 4mins. Weidenfeller couldn't do much but his defence is woeful. Langerak would get a workout too.
