Copa Italia.... so a lot bigger than the league cup... same as the FA cup, and a game between 2 serie-A teams.... so it is not a mickey mouse game..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coppa_Italia

Cool, thanks for clarifying.

It is a Round of 16 clash, winner to play Milan in the QF.

Hopefully he gets a run, but given the importance of the match, he may be tagging along for match day preparation experience rather than getting out on the pitch.

I remember watching him destroy a team from NZ whilst playing under 15s for Sutherland in a Manchester Cup game.

Fantastic to see him progress at Lazio. =d>

He's actually had number 70 for the senior team since the start of the season as far as I can see, but this is the first time he's been named in the first team match day squad.

Ugarkovic has gone on loan to the team at the top of the Croatian second division HNK Gorica. Hopefully he can play pretty much the rest of the season there and become a regular in the top flight next season

Vidosic played the 2nd half against Dortmund. Both teams changed their entire XI at half time.

Amini is with the U23s and played. Not sure about specifics.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Hopefully Amini moves on at seasons end, to a club that'll value him. Once he gets some first team football in him at a good level I'd imagine a 'Roos callup won't be to far away.

Lazio's third sub used in the 88th minute, no Ikon. Still, great to see he's advanced so quickly in the Lazio outfit, it's entirely reasonable to hope that he'll get some minutes for the first team by the end of this season.

Bad luck. However just reading about the line ups, Lazio were using Danilo Cataldi in their trequartista role and he is only 20 and come up from their youth system.

So the coach definitely isnt afraid to play youth, which is good news for Ikonomidies.

kinda knew Tounkara was going to be the youngster to get on the pitch. Even though he is younger and has slightly fewer goals than Oikonomidis this season he has made the bench for a serie A match and more importantly is 3 inches taller and has about 10kgs on Oikonomidis so looks more ready for senior football.

On Oikonomidis' position this season from what I have seen he has been playing mostly wide. Possibly with the striker as a false 9 so he and Tounkara are often the players leading counter attacks.

Or as a winger/striker, often on the left. I'm not sure if he's left footed, but he sure is good with both feet from the primavera highlights.

Yeah, i think he is primary used as a left winger, but he's plays as a inverted winger given he's right footed. He also played there for the young socceroos too, but he was quite poor in his only game he played.

 Brisbane lad should know all about playing for feeder teams.

Srs, it was a friendly for Borussia Moenchengladbach II ahead of the end of the Christmas break against 3.Liga (the division above Gladbach II) side Fortuna Koln. He came on at the 46th minute and scored in the 50th for a 2-1 win.

it good that he was on bench for the cup game, the key is, was he on bench just for the experience, or is he now genuine (sub) bench players for cup games , because they are not the same thing
