Anyone know young Callum Elder? He's on loan at Mansfield Town from Leicester, a youth product there. It gets better. He's a left back :D

I thought Derby might have thrown their hat into the ring once it became known he wanted to leave Chelsea. Apparently not.

Had his first 90 for Mansfield Town, in League Two last night. Unlike Shwarzer at Leicester lol.

Full matches last night also for Federici, James Meredith and Giannou. Alex Grant, on loan from Stoke, also played a full game and scored, as did Irvine who got an assist.

Bozanic and Halloran played in friendlies until half time and the 57th minute respectively, and Weslowski was stretchered off after just 17 minutes in his League Two match.

Panos Armenakas, still only sixteen, is getting game time in Udinese's Primavera (U20's) now, coming on at the 55th minute in the first match of the new year. He also came off the bench in the 80th and 83rd minute in the last two games before the Christmas break. Very promising.

NORTH Geelong Warriors young gun Stjepan Trbuhovic’s breakthrough opportunity has arrived after being asked to trial for Croatian soccer powerhouse Hajduk Split.

The 18-year-old midfielder left Australia last week and will spend the next month training with the famous club in a bid to earn a contract.

Geelong’s own Josip Skoko started his overseas career at the Croatian club before taking his talents across to England.

Trbuhovic has gone with the blessing of Warriors coach Micky Colina, who said the youngster would get invaluable experience even if he didn’t make the final cut.

“From what he’s told me, the senior players have gone to Italy for a week in their winter break, so he’s training with the fringe players and their youth team, so to speak” Colina said.

“They return next week and he’ll join them.

“Hopefully in a couple of weeks’ time he will have a better understanding of where he stands and if it does work out to be successful he will remain there for their season, which finishes around May.

“And if everything works out to plan, I’m guessing he will stay there through their summer break in the midyear.”

Trbuhovic’s immediate absence has created a balancing act with the Warriors’ roster, with lodgement deadlines looming.

But under any scenario, the newly promoted NPV club is confident Trbuhovic will be able to play for the Warriors this season if the Croatian experience does not go to plan.

“Even if things don’t work out for whatever reason, even if he finds out a bit later, he will still come back and participate in our season this year,” Colina said. “Obviously I’m supportive of this kind of thing and the opportunities it creates to get to the next level.

“It will be a good opportunity for him. We wish him all the best.

“As I say, it’s an experience you can put in your pocket and no one can ever take it away from you.”

Another Geelong product of Croatian heritage. Hopefully follows in the footsteps of Spiranovic.

WTF? It's a very good move for him?! Playing for one of the smaller clubs means he'll probably get a lot of gametime.

You think playing reserves football is a step up from the SPL? Scottish football might not be at its highest ebb but the league is well and truly better than any reserve league in England.

I can't quite hear the name clearly, but it sounds like Mile Popovic. Not listed on transfermarkt or anywhere else I could find.

Unsure if he's claiming allegiance to some Balkan country, but with that accent he's not fooling me!

Quality find, great work once again.

Apparently was just on loan at that time. Hasn't been back since.

Apparently Empoli are delaying a loan agreement for Brillante for some unknown reason, which is starting to piss Grella off. They are also looking at options in Serie B as well as interested clubs in the EPL and Bundesliga.

Is a very good move I would have put the SPL above the championship when their was full strength Rangers and Celtic but maybe not as good anymore but certainly not far of and better than league 1 for sure.

Brillante will get more game time at Empoli but really how much ? Have a feeling it wont be enough better of going Serie B can't recall any players going from the A league straight into the starting XI of one of the big 4 leagues.

In regards to a loan for Brillante, I think Serie B is more likely. Empoli just brought back Riccardo Saponara from AC Milan who is more of a CAM, but they have alot of versatile midfielders with attributes similar to Brillante. They also play with a 3 man midfield. Empoli might also be waiting on the sale of their best midfielder, Valdifiori, so that that could explain the prolonged status of the move. I think La Spezia are still interested in him and have been for a long time, so that could be where Brilla ends up.

Was putting Celtic and Rangers in their for the fact that you get to play these sides at least 4 times a year and they were at the time Mid to high range EPL quality. A bottom table championship team the only other realistic option would be slightly better but if their are no offers which I'm assuming is the case he is better of at this lowly ranked team getting 90 mins a game than sitting on the pine.

Think a lot of teams send youngsters to Scotland to toughen them up. For a defender it's hardly a bad move, he will be better for the experience. Good was playing the same level at 20, this guy is 18?

i watch A-league on bet365, and was lucky to go to MVFC vs Brisbane roar back in 2011, remember beautiful sunny day in Melbourne, walking from my Hotel room at Crown casino to Dockland , watching a exciting game with 25,000 people, and thought f-ck, this is better then most of shit league in Europe i've been to

I watch alot of football of European leagues , it easy to have games going from 9an to midnight on weekends

do you watch a lot of Ross county games, doesn't it remind you of watching old NSL game on SBS ?

sad news for kid, a big step down

WTF? It's a very good move for him?! Playing for one of the smaller clubs means he'll probably get a lot of gametime.

You think playing reserves football is a step up from the SPL? Scottish football might not be at its highest ebb but the league is well and truly better than any reserve league in England.

Is a very good move I would have put the SPL above the championship when their was full strength Rangers and Celtic but maybe not as good anymore but certainly not far of and better than league 1 for sure.

 you can play at Real Madrid or UD Almeria, both teams are in La Liga, so it the same thing

He not just now at SPL, he at Ross County the worst team in SPL...all A-league sub teams would beat Ross County , so it not a good thing

 You are so far off the mark i actually feel sorry for you! Have you watched the A-League? I'm guessing not! You clearly don't watch any Scottish games either so your opinion is a foolish one!! Why don't you make your own judgment on the standard of a league instead of following the general consensus on this forum before making such stupid comments.

i watch A-league on bet365, and was lucky to go to MVFC vs Brisbane roar back in 2011, remember beautiful sunny day in Melbourne, walking from my Hotel room at Crown casino to Dockland , watching a exciting game with 25,000 people, and thought f-ck, this is better then most of shit league in Europe i've been to

I watch alot of football of European leagues , it easy to have games going from 9an to midnight on weekends

do you watch a lot of Ross county games, doesn't it remind you of watching old NSL game on SBS ?

I have never seen an nsl game so i cannot comment on what that league was like (Unlike how people on this forum make opinions on leagues they have never seen..)

Yea Ross County are a poor side at the moment but that is mainly due to having an awful start to the season, since then they have a new manager who is gradually improving the side's performances even if the results are not quite there at the moment.

My point is not about Ross county in itself although i do think this will be a good move for the kid (He's originally from Aberdeen i believe?) instead my point is on the generalisation on this forum about the standard of scottish football! I'm the first to admit that it's not great however it's far from the level that most on here perceive it to be!

I also find it amusing that you think a team made up of A-League subs would beat Ross County.

I watch quite a lot of A-League games and i attend the odd Roar game and i find that the league is widely overrated on this forum in comparison to league's abroad.

The last match i went to was absolutely awful, I would have been better going to watch a sunday league game at my local club.

As a whole Scotland are developing alot of promising youngsters at the moment, I have seen very few coming through for Australia (I'm talking about coming from the A-League).

Considering the A-League is full of rejects from everywhere down to the scottish 4th division, I wouldn't listen too much to him Alex95.

Well getting to the World cup can be hard when you have a such a competitive qualification section, Something Australia does not have. Although i do believe that we will make both the Euro's & Russia 18.

I was merely suggesting that Ross County have a new manager with new idea's who has brought in new players.. cannot be judged by their poor start.
