I'd be surprised if higher divisions wouldn't be interested in Taylor Tombides like a 5th division or League 2 outfit. He has started well at the level he is at currently.
Curtis Good playing is the biggest news of the week IMO. Im a massive NUFC fan and the talk of the Toon is they expect him to debut in the PL before the end of the season. Only have 2 fit CBs left in the squad and an LB who fills in on occasion. Would be great to see him at that level, even if just off the bench. Big issues with the coaching staff atm though so who knows really! He apparently 'looked impressive' in Dubai on training camp with the firdt team. Edited by roary's mane: 25/1/2015 01:03:54 PM

Yeah I've heard no talk of them wanting to loan him back out, really hope he sees some EPL time this season. Ryan Edwards tweeting that he didn't look like he just came back from injury.

Finally some positive news on one of our long term injured players. Spira and Sainsbury will want to keep up the good NT performances, seems like Good may be knocking on the door soon.

Wilkshire starting v Ajax
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Sir Mark Schwarzer played for Leicester in the FA Cup win against Tottenham. A good save and otherwise not troubled.

the crystal palace wins have more to do with the change in manager than anything to do with jedi. the last guy was about as useful a holger.

Brilliante on the bench. No action after all 3 subs and they're down 2:1. A bit early perhaps but if this turns into a weekly piss take....

They're not going to rush him into the side. Hasn't played football since the start of October last year. Glad he made the bench at least and hopefully a good weeks worth of training and he'll make an appearance next week. Amazingly Empoli have Roma next round  It would be ironic if he started that game.

As a Toon fan I can confirm that the current backline is a shambles - strong chance for him to make his debut before the season is out and, depending on performances, cementing his spot in a team that gets a decent workout down back. Would be great for him if he manages to kick on.

Saw Brad Smith wasn't in the U21 squad today. Does anyone know if he has been missing a lot of games since returning from Swindon? his recall was reported as a contract dispute so he might have decided to leave or need promised game time. I am guessing Liverpool can't offer the latter so he might be moving when his contract ends I am guessing at the end of this season. A return to Swindon if they get promoted would be good. Might mean he will not be playing the rest of the season though.

Lots of youth action last night. Everton U21s took on Fulham, Gethin Jones and Taggart both playing full matches, Jones with an assist and Taggart scoring in the 3-3 draw.
Giancarlo Gallifuoco played a full game for Swansea U21s against Aaron Lennox in goal for QPR U21s, who also made a string of saves according to Swansea's twitter in their Swansea's 2-1 win. James Demetriou rode the pine.
Thomas Beadling played a full match for Sunderland U21's 1-0 win over Man City.
Babalj played the first 73 minutes for AZ youth, although IIRC he's on the way outta there.

On Beadling, he also rode the pine for the senior team in the FA Cup against Leeds on the 4th of January.
19 year old CB, only lived here from ages 10-12 (he was already at Sunderland's academy from age 8 previous to the move), although he qualifies for citizenship and eligibility through his Australian father and he captained an Australian U13s side in a tourney in Malaysia in his time here.

Has he mentioned who his allegiance is with? We rarely ever get these type of players who want to play for the socceroos. They usually want to play for England.

Seems to be going our way lately, Smith, Herd, etc. The only two in that honking massive list I wrote for the U23's who seem to be a risk are Gethin Jones and Milos Degenek. Keep making World Cups and they'll keep coming, I guess.
