Not his best game unfortunately and can't see him displacing Necid when he's back. Didn't get enough touches or service in the first half. Tried to get more involved by going deeper to recieve the ball and made some nice passes later on, but also lost nearly all of his physical and aerial duels. Although in fairness to Babalj it was his first start in a long time and the whole PEC Zwolle side in general was poor.

Sainsbury was rested. Necid, Thomas, Nijland and van Polen all missing.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

yes, he didn't do much..on aerial duels, he was in front on (almost) everyone, and got knock off the ball everyone, which was a surprise, because Babalj look to be a big guy, plus ref let keep letting it happing

Zwolle look bad, i don't even know how they got those 2 goals in last 15 min..

we talk about A-league 1st touch of the ball, but this game was bad to watch in this department

This is a big deal. I read a report that Ikon is the first ever non Italian to captain a Lazio primavera team. It will be very interesting to see where he ends up in the next transfer window.

Armenikas is playing in the Primavera anyways, which is a great achievement being a 16 year old in the u20's.

He came off the bench at the 73rd minute in their last game, which was against Inter on the 29th of Jan before the break of a few weeks due to the Viareggio tournament. Pretty sure I posted that here when it happened IIRC.

Their first game back was overnight our time versus Brescia, a 2-1 win for Udinese, seems Panos was an unused sub, however.

That's really awesome. Speaks a lot to his personality, which seems readily apparent to me.

It looks like Lazio want to develop him in-house, although I'd love to see him make his mark in senior football asap, myself.

Tough for Josh, moves to a struggeling club in the hope of game time along with other youngsters from Serie A. Empoli start to hit form and move up the table just as he arrives.

It's an 18 month loan so plenty of time but won't be easy to break into that side at the moment.

I am not too worried about Brillante. Has been mentioned by the coach the him not speaking the language makes it harder for him to be picked, he is hopefully picking that up and he is a player who will always trains well (Pizarro at Fiorentina even mentioned it) so I don't think he will be forgotten easily. Also as you mentioned he has plenty of time to break through.

Your also right Empoli's form makes it hard but as the end of the season gets closer I think there will be chances. They are currently on 27 points, 7 above relegation and 11 off being safe at the end of the season. If they get to theoretical safety or struggle there will be changes made to the team but at the moment they are more in the middle and they only have 1 game a week so there is no need to change up the team. It may be a few more weeks away but I am confident Brillante will be given a decent chance.

Gavin de Niese had a full 90 in the senior reserves for River Plate.

Touch wood, but he might have a hard time breaking into the first team, who all took viagra before their last game!

Correct, Sarri said that Josh was on the right track but has to improve his Italian, which is a very interesting point and something that may be glossed over by a few on here.

Empoli are certainly at the tipping point of their season, it could go either way so changing a winning formulae would be risky. Matias Vecino who is also on loan from Fiorentina returns to la viola in June, which will open up the door for Brillante on the right side of midfield.

I think he is a chance to make an appearance by the end of the season. The chase for European football is so tight though, the manager may be inclined to make more pragmatic selections in his squad. La Viola, Samp, Genoa and Lazio have been so close all year, it's been a very competitve Serie A season.

The Viagra didnt help as they lost 2-0 in Bolivia. The extra leg was too hard to play with but Gavins on track as River have a very busy schedule this year.

River have one of, if not the best football academy outside of Europe. They have developed a staggering 17 players who currently play in the Big-5 leagues in Europe.

Gavin is in the right environment for him to progress and become a top footballer.

Interesting.

These drugs have been used to prevent altitude sickness by reducing the pressure of the blood in the lungs with minimal benefits but the main treatment, acetozolamide is banned as its a diuretic.

Surprisingly, sildenafil is not a banned substance.

Sildenafil has been used for a while for purposes other than altitude issues, and even then it doesn't respond well for everyone. Bodybuilders have been using it for ages. I suppose it's for essentially the same reasons as to why players take it for altitude work, blood flow to muscles, but for different purposes.

Hrustic seems to have had really good game. Scoring one, creating one and having one disallowed. The translation is very messy so I will try and pull out the relevent parts and

Quote:
The goals were scored by five different guys, namely Kasper Oldenburger, Yassine Zakir Gijs Jasper, Ajdin Hrustic and Pier Veldman .

A good shot of Ajdin Hrustic should mean the 2-0, but referee Wimmers saw this differently. The ball was the target, according to him through the bar before leaving home. A number of people were there about certainly take a different view. Sparta Rotterdam then took a moment and managed to lift the state just before half time 1-1.

Not really clear but it seems he hit the crossbar and the balls gone down before bouncing out. The ref said the ball bounced before the line while others said it was a goal. Something like Lampard's goal in 2010 which was called as bouncing before the line.

Quote:
Given the predominance and the previous game if there are still some expected in the second half, and so then it happened. A shot from distance by again Ajdin Hrustic was still turned by Michael Fabrie, the keeper of Rotterdam, but Yassine Zakir knew then the ball well to get into the goal.

A little simple. Hrustic with another shot which was saved but his teammate got the rebound and scored

Quote:
Sparta had now come, resulting in more space for the front men of Peter Hoekstra, who made good use in the conversion of the space. Gijs Jasper knew quickly to take advantage and worked the 3-1 Rotterdam goalkeeper. When Ajdin Hrustic the ball then through outside-right nicely placed in the intersection worked the game was played: the 4-1 was on the imaginary scoreboard (on artificial turf are no scoreboards present).

Can't really tell what specifically happened but Hrustic scored
