For the Ikon lovers out there, Felipe Anderson is currently being linked to PSG by a fair few places, an attacking midfielder/winger in Lazio's first team.

His departure could mean an improved chance of Ikon minutes next season in the first team.

He really is a great player, good enough to go anywhere. More central though, but if it frees up spots generally in the attack it's good news for Ikon.

He can't play for Australia but here is a pretty interesting article on Traore. Some parts haven't translated well but he says he wants to live in Melbourne when he retires. It also mentions how he has accepted he will never play for the Socceroos. Hope he does well in the Champions league and I will probably watch if he comes up against a top winger. Also it would be great to see a player in their twilight come back to the A-league after starting here and having a really successful time in Europe.

http://www.bzbasel.ch/dossiers/fussball-fcbasel/traor-champions-league-ist-mein-grosser-traum-129118175

Edit: when I say starting here I mean playing a couple of seasons in the A-league and thinking back I probably could have posted this in the MV thread.

Played briefly in an unofficial tournament for the Ivorian U23's or something like that, and yet FIFA ruled it as an 'official cap' and thus won't let him transfer his playing citizenship.

Pretty shitty.

He played for one nation, before he had citizenship of the other, therefore he is ineligible to play for the us because he wasn't a dual citizen at the time he played for IC. That's how he's different from the other kids who get experience playing for other countries then ultimately choose. They are born dual citizens, Traore wasn't.

Not quite.

He played for the Ivory Coast in an official underage match, BEFORE he qualified for Australia. That's why he's ineligible for us.

What the hell?

I thought you could change allegiances if you've played for a national team's under-X, as long as you haven't played for a senior NT. That's the reason Tim Cahill was allowed to play for Australia.

That is pretty shitty.

Difference is Cahill always had dual citizenship. Traore did not have Australian citizenship when he played for the Ivory Coast.

Traore's problem is that he wasn't allegiable for Australia at the time he played for the Ivory Coast. That's the difference between him and Cahill.

Yes but you have to be eligible to play for the other country(s) at the time. Traore obviously wasn't eligible to play for Australia when he played for the Ivory Coast. Cahill like many other young Aussies was eligible to play for Australia when he played for Samoa.

Langerak is likely to start against Wolfsburg. Some rumours going around that he'll be #1 next season.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.
