Macca played the full match against Rangers. Looks like they'll stay up. Edited by playmaker11: 29/5/2015 08:27:28 PM

Who ever is going to buy Maty Ryan for a decent transfer fee, they certainly not going to waste his talent sitting on the bench.

On the subject of Mat Ryan, I remember there being a rule in Serie A where clubs could only sign one non-EU player each season a few years ago - does anyone know if this rule still exists? If so, could make Roma's interest in Ryan all the more interesting if they're willing to use a valuable non-EU spot on him (something that is generally reserved for Africans and South Americans).

Bozanic played a full match in Luzern's 3-0 win over Sion. Vidosic came on in the second half. Sion play Basel in the cup final next week. If Basel win, Luzern will get a Europa League qualifying spot.

Still no word on who will start in goal for Dortmund. I think Langerak will start bit there has been no confirmation. If Weidenfeller gets the nod Mitch should tell BVB to get stuffed.

Both coaches met the media on Friday and, given the stakes, it was a rather laid-back experience. When asked whether he would reveal who his team would be, Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking said he would only reveal his cards if Klopp followed suit. Hecking's prediction that Mitchell Langerak will start in the Dortmund goal drew a wry smile from his counterpart.

Weidenfeller has only been rubbish the last 10 months. He has been good the last 4 years but definitely isn't the German number 2 on ability and form. Mitch gets another cup final which is great and Wolfsburg will make him work. Here we go!

Mitch!!! What a reflex save. Mat Ryan you are good but someone else is hitting form at the right time. Great news for the Roos.

What are your thoughts on Langerak's distribution and footwork?
Those who seem entrenched in the pro-Ryan camp draw upon the notion that Ryan has substantially better distribution and footwork, meaning that Australia can retain possession and counter-attack better.
The three questions are (a) how much worse is Langerak in terms of distribution and footwork? (b) how much better is Langerak than Ryan as a shot-stopper? and (c) how much weight does one attach to the importance of those two attributes?

1:1 Mitch saves a rocket free kick but Gustavo puts the rebound away just pass Langerak's foot. Damn. Watching the replay, a big shame he didn't manage to put it to the side. No shame though as Naldo has beaten the best with his free kicks.

Hard to put much blame on him. Crap wall and Gustavo shouldn't have been allowed to get there first. Edited by playmaker11: 31/5/2015 04:28:50 AM

Ryan has improved as a shot stopper since the WC debacle. I think some are anti-Langerak from his brainsnaps in friendlies. It'd be nice to see him have a Dortmund form game for the Roos. Ryan has great vision and excellent distribution. Even my football novice girlfriend got a crush on his distribution when we saw Germany-Australia live. I think Langerak has decent distribution under the BVB game plan and he'd be able to take that wherever he goes. Langerak is the stronger shot stopper but only just. We very fortunate to have these two plus Fed who will hopefully get time at Bournemouth. I still prefer Ryan but only just. In regard to the attribute question, it depends on who we are playing and how attacking we want to be. Ryan is better for attacking.. If we're going to get peppered by shots I'd say Langerak.
