Good to see young Jordan Lyden retained by Villa - he's a promising young defender (FB IIRC?) for 2017 Generation Young Socceroos.

Shame about Thomas Strain - his younger brother Ryan still on the books I guess.

With Chris Herd, it's complicated - he has still been given the opportunity to train with the club, due to his time off with injury
and the new coaching regime of Sherwood coming in. They want to give a 'fit' Herd a good look over in training next few weeks or so and I suppose
depending how that goes, they could still re-sign him.

I was just trying to explain why not much has been posted about him, not that he was doing poorly. It is not like we talk about Jedi, Luongo, Wright or Holland getting 90 minutes in a league game. After being in the reserves for a little bit playing cuarta (when he doesn't score) is not that exiting. Also I asked some river plate fans about him and they hardly knew him. they said when he plays reserves he might become well known but for them to be exited about a player they are normally doing well in the reserves at 18. Now he did have Visa issues playing competetive games before he was 18 but I doubt people in Argentina think he is the new big thing, there are 6 19 year olds in the first team squad.

90 minutes and an assist for Rose in a 3-0 win. Seattle are still on top.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Rose becoming a regular in fourth season with Sounders
BY DON RUIZ
Staff writerJune 10, 2015

MLS Real Salt Lake Sounders Soccer
Seattle Sounders' Andy Rose celebrates scoring against Real Salt Lake during the second half of an MLS soccer match, Friday, Sept 12, 2014, in Seattle. Seattle won the match 3-2.
STEPHEN BRASHEAR — AP

TUKWILA — Seattle’s last meeting with FC Dallas served as a coming-out party for a handful of Sounders.

Victor Mansaray and Oniel Fisher made their MLS debuts in that March match. Cristian Roldan got his first MLS start. Zach Scott and Aaron Kovar made their first appearances of the season, while Chad Barrett and Andy Rose got their first starts of 2015.

It could be that no one made more use of his opportunity than Rose, who has started eight matches and appeared in all 11 since that scoreless draw at Dallas.

“A few guys have been away and have gone down injured or whatnot, so I’ve filled in at a few different positions,” Rose said this week. “In Dallas, I was playing more of the advanced role, which was pretty foreign to me. … It’s a game we feel like we dropped a couple of points there, and we want to make sure we get them back this weekend.”

The Hoops and the Sounders will meet for the second and final time of this MLS regular season Saturday at CenturyLink Field.

Once again the Sounders will be at less than full strength, and once again Rose’s versatility seems likely to earn him time in one role or another.

“Andy’s just been very consistent,” coach Sigi Schmid said. “We played him in the middle of midfield; we’ve played him on the outside as well. You know Andy’s always going to give you a good effort. He’s one of the guys that covers a lot of ground. When you average out the amount of distance he runs in a game, he’s probably … in the top five in the league for sure. So there’s a lot of attributes he brings, and with little niggling injuries there have been opportunities to continue to play — and I think he’s done well.”

The earlier game at Dallas wasn’t as much of a launching pad for the other debuting Sounders. Fisher hasn’t appeared since, and Mansaray just once more. Roldan has started four games since, and Scott three more. Barrett has started two others, but is expected to be unavailable this weekend while still working his way back from a hamstring injury suffered last week in practice.

Meanwhile, Rose is one of just three field players to appear in every Sounders match so far this season. He appears on pace to top his career-high 23 appearances, set in his 2012 rookie season.

“I’m enjoying my football, which is the main thing,” Rose said. “You go through ups and downs in this game, like any profession, and you have to stay strong more than anything. Obviously I had some tough injuries last season, so I’m just enjoying being out there, being fit, getting a lot of minutes and just trying to get better every day.”

given the a league is about the the same standard as the MLS but has a style more compatable with how ange likes to play andy rose would have to be pretty dominant in the MLS to be a starter. Perhaps he might get a look in though. One thing about ange is he looks at every player

Wouldn't say the total wage budget is reflective of the quality of team. The Wanderers did win the ACL, after all.

you need look at a league budget history, in the case of Dutch league, there 2 points in play, there the open market of a inflated wage in Europe, but plus there a big amateur football leagues in Holland, why a team like Dordrecht could get away with only €2.2 mill

you really got to stop talking to me,, you are now so far out of you're league, it's not funny

He said one MLS club

one club x 20 clubs = MLS League, the average of MLS league clubs = one club

take a step up, the top MLS clubs is likely have a bigger correlation to USA NT then bottom clubs

you look at player list called up by US national team for Gold cup, 35 players

20 MLS
5 Mexico league
4 Bundesliga
2 EPL
1 ECL
1 France Ligue 1
1 Dutch Eredivisie
1 US Collage :)

to say MLS has no correlation to USA national team, is just silly

Rose, playing for the best team last year, and looking like still the best team this year...that needs to be respect, and he needs to be look at

Rumor Mill but

- Ivan Santini prefers Racing Genk above Standard. The Australian Tomi Juric is considered alternative. The nearly 24 -year-old striker would like Europe to go.

Standard in the coming weeks will go firm must play in the transfer market . The Rouches see off some players. La Meuse announced that Standard has specific interest in an Australian international.
