Rogic part of the build up for the goal making it 6-1 on aggregate in the 93rd minute, game well over by the time he set foot on the pitch.

Burgess with the assist for Taggart is awesome. But it was almost a fully reserve team out there.
Reading a match report it said that Taggart had a few great moments including a peach of a cross leading up to his goal. Fans seem to be warming to him, but still expect him to be on the bench. They don't seem to talk about Burgess mush at all.

Luongo's goal. McGowan played as well.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

I don't know if anyone else has been following Sainsbury's latest injury but here is his coach on it Quote: After the departure of Joost Broerse (stopped) and Maikel van der Werff (Vitesse) PEC can Zwolle central defender Sainsbury good use, but the Australian the league has not started. "He walks around with a hamstring injury, which according to the doctor were caused by a nerve in the back. He is on schedule, but next week probably involved only really back more to the group. I expect him late August or early September ready is to play, "said Jans against FCUpdate.nl. http://www.fcupdate.nl/voetbalnieuws/280647/jans-wacht-nog-tijdje-op-sainsbury-en-hoopt-op-nijland/Edited by moofa: 23/7/2015 11:05:25 PM

Great news with Pioli reportedly being impressed enough by Ikonomidis to keep him at Lazio this season and put him in their champions league squad. Now we will have to wait and see how often he will get on the pitch. I would say it is riskier than going out on loan but will also give a chance for a much bigger reward Quote:Oikonomidis become mezza'ala: promoted by Pioli, will stay in the first team
Posted by Editor on July 23, 2015 08:27 - 1,668 visits Spring-Supercup-OikonomidisChris Oikonomidis , Australian national, 23 goals in 52 appearances for the Biancocelesti Spring, was one of the most positive in the withdrawal of Auronzo di Cadore. In the coming season, the player will remain under the command of Pioli - his great admirers - and will be included in the list of 25 for Europe. During his time in the first part of the retreat, Oikonomidis reacted well to the new signs of Pioli. According to a report in the Corriere dello Sport , the player has played well the new role of left midfield added, seeing the game very well , and being renamed by his friend Keita Balde Diao new Iniesta. The Australian was a playmaker and played also by external attack in the trident of Inzaghi. Lazio will tip, he refused many offers from Serie B to keep him with them. In the spring it was re-signed until 2020 and now the little Oikonomidis Chris is ready to conquer the Lazio of big thanks to his new role. http://lnx.lazialita.com/2015/07/23/oikonomidis-diventa-mezzaala-promosso-da-pioli-restera-in-prima-squadra/

A few articles are saying Pioli has discovered Oikonomidis is a perfect Mezz'ala. Now it is hard to know exactly what it means and sometimes it just translates to midfield but more specifically it seems to be inside forward or an off centre attacking mid. Here is an image of only a couple I could find with mezzala as a position named. with this image and comparisons to Iniesta it makes sense

Not sure how many poachers play in midfield. To me sounds more like that iniesta/silva type role as creator and scorer

Palace up against SuperSport United from South Africa tonight. Correct me if I am wrong but I think that'll be Isaka Cernak against Mile Jedinak. Jeremy Brockie I think also plays for SuperSport

Not sure how many poachers play in midfield. To me sounds more like that iniesta/silva type role as creator and scorer Hmm interesting - given what we briefly saw of him with the Socceroos - I'd suspect this (Inside Forward), but given the presented formation, you guys may be right (Iniesta-type?!)? He was dynamic, agile and quick with the passing and movement with the 'roos. Nice crisp, sharp, passing, movement and inter-play. I think he even drew a foul or two the short time he was on! I was tentatively drawing comparisons to Kewell even - hadn't seen that level of quality of effectiveness out on the flanks with the 'roos since that era anyway. Still way too early and too little to judge, but he provided some quality impetus and you could see that was a product of his training and acceleration in the environment surrounding Lazio's senior team. Just going by that very slight insight - I 'think' I can see what you guys suggest, maybe that type of play is ideal from a Mezzala?
