No Griffiths (67'), Commons (79') and Forrest (84') came on. For the life of me, I have no idea how Forrest is still getting a run ahead of Rogic.

Still, Baku away is a hard trip and Deila is likely to start resting players soon. Celtic have 3 fixtures in the next 9 Days with Partick Thistle and Kilmarnock away before Inverness CT at home, Rogic is going to get a start very soon.

He played right back for 65 minutes in a 4312. While long-term I hope he moves to central midfield right back is an area we could improve in the national team.

Empoli has been going between 4312 and 352 this pre-season. Brillante is competing for the right full/wing back with a guy called Bittante and it seems pretty close with PianetaEmpoli (an empoli news site) predicting Bittante to start the match in their preview yesterday.

Dutch football website article from yesterday.

"Juric for Roda JC can certainly be an asset '
A week after capturing the Australian midfielder Rostyn Griffiths Roda JC Kerkrade busy with his compatriot Tomi Juric (24, photo).
Kerkrade club desperate for a striker and hopes that the twelvefold international who can fill vacancy. Juric thanked six months ago to the Chinese top club Shanghai Shenua, where he could earn millions, because he preys on a chance in Europe. He is a free agent after the expiry of his contract with Western Sydney Wanderers FC, for which he was well over the last two seasons for twelve goals in 34 games at the highest level in Australia.

It seems no coincidence that the visor Roda Down Under has addressed shortly after capturing Han Berger as an adviser. The Utrecht worked in recent years as a director for the Australian Football Association and is currently still a board member technical affairs of Sydney FC. Yet no Griffiths and Juric come under Berger from his quiver. 'Roda was already orientating in Australia prior to my arrival, "he says. "But it is true that my network and experience in Australian football can play a role."

"Griffiths and Juric I know well, the latter I have also experienced with the national team. It is a target man up front, a physically strong guy who is technically fairly well grounded. Roda he can certainly be an asset. Mentally true for him the same as for any other Australian Griffiths and it is a boy who will never renounce. Berger stressed that he only holds an advisory role and therefore will not conduct negotiations on behalf of Roda JC. "So far it is not yet," said Berger. "But the contacts have been laid."

Bulut came on at the 1:35:35 mark no99

Played on the left side of attack...Worked hard closing down and tracking back.Made some runs in behind but had little effect on the outcome.

He copped a bad tackle during a friendly against Al Wahda from the UAE. Can't say I'm surprised...

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Just thought it would strange for a Dutch club to take two Aussies into their first team without any consultation from a European coach who knows the Australian league and Australian players.

The medial collateral ligament is in the knee, not the ankle so pretty serious.

Didn't Leckie tear that same ligament thanks to a rough tackle from that wanker Surat Sukha a couple years ago?

Fuck, please don't break down Leckie. Not like this. You're the only quality player that AU have developed to date. Even if you're just a sweaty winger with a hipster haircut who couldn't finish a wet dream. :(

Annoyingly no actual time for Leckie's injury has been reported. Most other players always get a real time so this indefinite period is a worry. I'll say 10 weeks and hopefully that's max.

sounds about right..

Quote:
Prognosis of a MCL tear
With appropriate management, most patients with a minor to moderate MCL injury (grades 1 and 2) can return to sport or normal activity within 2 – 8 weeks. Patients with a complete rupture of the MCL will require a longer period of rehabilitation to gain optimum function. Patients with a MCL tear who also have damage to other structures of the knee such as the meniscus or collateral ligaments are likely to have an extended rehabilitation period.

Eldorado smashes it out of the park.. knows his anatomy.. well done mate.

It's pretty hard to damage the deltoid ligament (have to rotate ankle the opposite way from the normal "rolled ankle").

Australian's injured?!?!?!

That was all sarcasm, by the way. I'm no longer surprised by news of our players getting injured. We've an injury toll similar that to American troops on the D-Day landings in France. We just need to keep shipping them over and hoping a few get through.
