With Fer and Sandro back, Luongo will now find it hard to get consistent game time if Ramsey sticks with the donkey that is Karl Henry in midfield. Sandro will hopefully replace him when back to full fitness and Luongo will most likely be used in the rotation or replace Tozser in the DLP role. Either way, it looks like Luongos days as an attacking mid are over for the foreseeable future.

Shame to hear he's been dropped, I thought he was getting an assist every game or thereabouts when he started. Is he not being as influential anymore?

How's Tozser been going? Did some good things a few years ago at AEK.

Assist for their 2nd goal.

Scotty Mac presenting on BT Sport before the Celtic match, plenty of discussion about Rogic.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

16 min in and i could scratch my eye's out this game is so bad
The Roda game was 10 times better than this crap

The QPR fans haven't been too happy with Loungo the last few weeks although some on their forum say the no10 role isn't for him and he's better playing deeper

Suits Australia perfectly. CAMs we're in decent stead with Rogic, DDS, potentially the Ikon (although he normally plays on the wing) and maybe even Armenakas eventually.

We need deep lying playmakers.

Luongo and Culina are too different. Culina was technically twice the player Luongo is, but Luongo is better in tight spaces. The amazing thing about Culina is that he never found himself in a tight space.

He also rarely tackled from memory but was very good at forcing turnovers and intercepts because he read the play and passing lanes so well.
Loungo could improve in that area but the 2 QPR games ivé seen so far it all looks more 1v1 battles and 50/50 challenging than playing football.

Still doesn't impose himself on the game. I want to see him hunt for the ball around the pitch and demand it to feet, not just sit in space and wait for the ball to come to him.

While its all well and good waiting around to make that final ball in transition, the defences in Scotland are often set deep and narrow well before that and it means Rogic often stands around doing fuck all whilst the ball is moved horizontally across the middle and final third.

Decent comments.

Ideally, if we had a very, very technical and quick CDM with the ability to open play up just by position, to nail the long-ball/through-ball with the perfect weight and the ability to shut down play quickly. Basically somebody like Culina (but with Grella's defence), or Xabi Alonso as one of the best examples. Ideally,we'd want such a player and for him to be playing in Europe. We could pair him and Luongo together at CDM, with Rogic sitting in-front of them at CAM.

Given our options on the wing, our midfield would be class.

On the subject of Luongo, maybe he's also got something of Bresciano about him insofar as he carries the ball very, very well. Probably has a bit more zip than Bresch did, but maybe I'm judging Bresch by latter years rather than a decade ago.

This is really handy in a CDM. Again, looking to some of the best examples in the world there's Iniesta and Xavi.

Obviously with Rogic in front of him, that's gold. Or it will be once they're more used to playing together.

If Luongo is played deeper in the Championship, you'd hope his defensive skills will improve somewhat.

And then, as I say, paired alongside more of a technician, that's a really solid CDM pairing which will work well with Rogic at CAM and the wings, and the defence. They'll be very fluid getting the ball out of defence and then bringing it up field and distributing.

Weekend Round up:

EPL:

Mile Jedinak was not in the squad and was listed as injured in Crystal Palace's 2-0 home win over West Brom. They are now 4th.
Mark Schwarzer was an unused sub in Leicester's 2-1 away win over Norwich.
Adam Federici was also an unused sub in Bournemouth's 1-1 home draw with Watford.

Championship:

Jason Davidson played 90 mins in Huddersfield's 3-0 away loss to Wolves.
Tommy Oar came on in the 82nd minute in Ipswich's 2-0 away loss to Blackburn.
Shane Lowry was not in the squad in Birmingham's 2-0 away win over Leeds.
Massimo Luongo was an unused sub in QPR's 4-3 home win over Bolton.
Neil Kilkenny was an unsued sub and Bailey Wright was suspended in Preston's 3-1 away loss to Sheffield Wednesday.

League One:

Shane Cansdell-Sherriff was an unused sub in Burton's 1-0 home win over Southend. They remain top of the table.
James Wesolowski was not in the squad in Shrewsbury's 3-0 away loss to Coventry.
Brad Inman played 90 mins while Daniel Nizic was an unused sub for Crewe whilst Chris Herd played 72 min as a right back for Chesterfield in Crewe's 2-1 home loss to Chesterfield.
Ryan Williams was not in the Barnsley squad in its 2-1 away loss to Doncaster Rovers.
20 year old Callum Elder once again played 90 mins as a left back in Peterborough's 5-3 home win over Millwall.
Brad Jones was a unused sub and James Meredith played 90 mins in Bradford's 3-1 away win over Rochdale.

League Two:

Alex Cisak played 90 mins in Leyton Orient's 3-1 home win over Notts County. They are now third.

Bundesliga:

Robbie Kruse and Mitch Langerak both remain injured as Stuttgart drew 2-2 away to Hoffenheim.
Matt Leckie played 90 mins and got an 8.4 rating on whoscored in Ingolstadt's 2-0 home win over Eintracht Frankfurt. They are now 6th.

2. Bundesliga:

Ben Halloran made a rare start and picked up an assist in Heidenheim's 4-0 away win over FSV Frankfurt. He really should start more often as he often picks up assists and goals when he plays.
Milos Degenek played 73 mins in 1860 Munich's 1-1 away draw with arminia bielefeld.
James Holland's Duisburg plays tomorrow morning.

China:

Shanghai Shenhua beat Beijing BG 3-1 at home in the first leg of the FA cup semi final. Can't find any info whether Cahill played or scored.

Croatia:
