Jimbo Holland played 90 mins in a 1-0 win over Paderborn. First win of the season. Next match is against Halloran away to Heidenheim.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Could be marking Ikon in the Europa League this season! i don't think that's going to happen ..games are on Oct 22nd and Nov 5th .....plus Europa league only has 7 on the bench Ikon not even on the bench anymore with 13 players , have you heard any news? He's off with the national team. so it's been coach's decision and not injury for the reason why Ikon has not been on Lazio bench the last two games ....it be interesting to see if he start for under 23 team No I think what he meant was that he is away with the national team, so it's a physical impossibility that Ikon could sit on Lazio' bench the under 23 games is this weekend, so it didn't affect the last two weeks Fmd you're special. is that a football question? or just another one of your personal insults you make to me after (almost) every football post I make on The Aussies Abroad Thread because if it's football, i don't understand ?

Maty has spent the weekend in hospital due to an infection in his operated knee. He'll be out longer than planned :(

The QPR fans haven't been too happy with Loungo the last few weeks although some on their forum say the no10 role isn't for him and he's better playing deeper Suits Australia perfectly. CAMs we're in decent stead with Rogic, DDS, potentially the Ikon (although he normally plays on the wing) and maybe even Armenakas eventually. We need deep lying playmakers. Edited by quickflick: 4/10/2015 10:57:47 PM Agree A role similar to what Culina had would do for Loungo nicely Is DeSilva part of the Olyroo's ? Hapefully Ange gets him in soon like with the Ikon Luongo and Culina are too different. Culina was technically twice the player Luongo is, but Luongo is better in tight spaces. The amazing thing about Culina is that he never found himself in a tight space. Why would we put da silva and ikon in when we have two winger that are wayyyyy better then them. Leckie and kruse. Then u have oar and burns. Those two are not up to nt standards. I don't see the point in playing players that are not ready. To me it cheaping the Australia Jersey 😅 Edited by frankfrank: 7/10/2015 11:44:07 AMEdited by frankfrank: 7/10/2015 11:48:27 AM

agreed. Most players have a 20 or so game incubation period before we see them play to their potential so there is an important balance between giving upcoming players experience and improving existing combinations

I think the starting line-up generally should be the "best" players (irrelevant of age), but the bench is a different mater. Similarly if we are playing some teams (say Bangladesh or Tajikistan) it wouldn't hurt to give some youngster game time ... I am sure some of the better players (and their teams) would appreciate them not being at risk of injury against teams we beat by 4 or more goals (with or without them).

True, but it is difficult to restrain yourself when he is 1) beyond reason, an unshakable belief in the ultimate truth of his completely 'unfalsifiable' ideas, like discussing with a religious fundamentalist at your front door and, more annoyingly 2) continually putting his unsustainable ideas in every thread. I have resorting to yelling at my screen rather than type what I'm thinking sometimes... Is there an ignore poster setting, so I don't have to get irate reading his stuff?

Cry me a river. Adrtho has brought it on himself. He's as antagonistic as anyone on here. He makes no effort whatsoever to listen or see other points of view and isn't backward at being obnoxious to anyone who doesn't agree with him. Now this is fine if you can take the heat that will come with being that way.
To paint him as some poor victim is disingenuous and rather patronizing to him. He probably gives zero shits about being banned and is off doing whatever it is he does. Moral crusaders need to get off their high horses and just stick to worrying about football chat because that's why we are here.
Go Socceroos, Joeys and Olyroos!

Go Socceroos, Joeys and Olyroos! He does chat about football and backs it up with credible stats and facts. Whether anyone wants to believe them and him is another thing. People straight up destroy him because he dare speak out against the bias on this forum and present an alternative (in some case, extreme) view. moofa wrote:I thought you were referring to Smith in that last sentence and was really confused. On another note, what are peoples opinions of the Norwegian league? I can only comment on what i've seen in the Europa League. This presents a similar story to the other lower/mid tier leagues of Europe in that they are capable of good football but cannot do it consistently or to an effective level

Just because he says they are doesn't mean they are, they're opinions which he attaches to certain stats. And his stats too are rarely useful. As Benjamin showed in the other thread his argument was full of holes and went back and forth contradicting each other until finally he admitted he just wanted people to talk up the Aleague for promotional purposes. Nothing wrong with that but he shouldn't try and pass it off as fact while denigrating all with more realistic opinions as being anti-Australian football.. You guys should listen to posters like Benjamin who are credible sources and have real world experience at the elite level of the game here and abroad without hiding in anonymity. Adrtho has himself admitted to not having any experience in football and only uses Elo (a decent yet flawed system, not nearly as reliable as a blood test) and betting agencies.
