Players like Konchesky playing every game. Everytime I've watched that streak of duckshit play I've never noted anything special about him. You think Mass would be able to help them achieve something. MAYBE like Jedinak, being angry might be justifiable somewhat when you think you've got something to offer the team , especially if they're not going well like QPR. That would right piss me off watching my team lose from the sideline.

Mile is what?, 31. He would great in a league like Greece for a couple of seasons. Play a bit of Champions League. Follow up with big cash out in Middle East trading on being a EPL Captain.

Am I the only one who read Harry's comments? He said "good enough to play for Arsenal one day"... As in, In the future.
Too many awful posters ruining a good thread.

Too many awful posters ruining a good thread. The other pertinent point he made is that Luongo is wasted in a team that bypass the midfield on a regular basis...

tommy oar tonight? he must be getting close to full match fitness by now, it's been 2 months. to those in the know, how long does this normally take? fitness has not normally been an issue for him and he's been doing well with injuries so I would imagine he would be on the lower end of the time scale. if he's getting full minutes before new years, there's chance to redeem his season yet. #fuckutrecht

90' for Holland away to Dusseldorf. Duisburg still rock bottom. 75' for King Kenny Dougall. Sparta lead the league.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

One year they had Danny Tiatto in the top whatever.

Most people would be able to name twenty or thirty better midfielders on the spot. Traditionally, Jedinak's passing and movement has let him down. In saying that he (and Cahill too) were involved in some beautiful passages of play against Bangladesh. It was against Bangladesh, however.

Gotta remember he is a DEFENSIVE midfielder. In his position, silky passing is just like a fancy paint job on a car - looks great but doesnt make it any faster.

Gotta remember he is a DEFENSIVE midfielder. In his position, silky passing is just like a fancy paint job on a car - looks great but doesnt make it any faster. Disagree. Silky (or shall we say clinical) passing is not like a fancy paint job on a car. If anything it's like an engine in a car. Although screening and intercepting (where Jedinak thrives) are crucial for defensive midfielders, if a defensive midfielder cannot pass accurately and, make space, by way of creative passing and movement, then they're not among the best defensive midfielders, let alone midfielders, generally. Face it, if Jedinak genuinely was one of the top ten midfielders in Europe, he wouldn't have been playing for Crystal Palace for too long. He'd have been fielding offers from all manners of clubs which play in the knock-out stages of the Champion's League. Don't forget that Xabi Alonso, Busquets, Schweinsteiger, De Rossi, Yaya Touré, Mascherano, Khedira and a bunch of other blokes like that are (or can be classified as) defensive midfielders. They're defensively solid and also outstanding in terms of creativity. Jedinak, while exceedingly handy, is too one dimensional. Lots of those players are more along the lines of the complete defensive midfielder. There's a reason they're playin UCL knock-out stages and Jedinak is not. Thus, I still think it's too big a call.

Without being an expert, I'm fairly sure I've got a decent idea of what defensive midfield involves. I refer you to the post above.

'Statistically he was rated as like 3rd in Europe. Gotta remember he is a DEFENSIVE midfielder. In his position, silky passing is just like a fancy paint job on a car - looks great but doesnt make it any faster.'
Last season Jedinak had been included in best foreign EPL XI in some media, not due to high level skills, but something like 'grit, leadership and mongrel'; often missing from players in many top clubs. At least last season some UK commentators, e.g. FootballRamble, suggested the likes of Arsenal could benefit from Jedinak or similar, but this season who knows.....
PS Off topic, but the A-League and FFA could do no harm in finding The Guardian UK's 'Football Weekly' podcast member etc., Barry Glendinning (and offering him lots of drinks), now visiting relatives in Oz for 6 weeks, potential free PR internationally for Oz football to a big audience, if he enjoys Oz hospitality :)
