Luongo is a big concern now.

Soccer way says own goal. Was it a deflected shot? Juric off on 77 mins. Still good for him on his return away to a top team.

Our players need to avoid the ecl
Many players who have played at a higher levek have struggled there and a league players have struggled there compared to similar quality leagues and players that do play rarely improve for the nt

Jedi and williams are the only players i can think of who improved in the ecl
And jedi suits the skill set needed and was too rough for the nt when he played there giving away a stupid pen and getting a red during wc qulifiers. He toned it down when he was in the epl
Williams probably gets injured all the time because of the physicality of the league

Even spl league 1 or the oil leagues have been better for our roo careers with spira and bresciano improving for the nt in the oil leagues (and the rest declining quickly)

Still, the coach will recognise his contribution even if the scoreboard doesn't.

Bresciano improved after leaving italy ?

surprisingly yes at least for a couple of seasons we saw some of his best form for the national team then

perhaps he was burnt out in italy and was refreshed by the easier pace of the oil leagues
then again lucas neill declined dramatically in the oil leagues....

Off the top of my head, Rogic, Irvine, Degenek, smith, elder, ikon, Mabil, dds, gersbach, luongo, wright, mclaren, borello and more. Even deng is decent and very young.

fed might be an example
its difficult to say because I didnt see him before he played there
cahill like luongo and wright and now meredith all were arguably developed in league one coz cahill only spent a s eason in the ecl if I recall correctly.

If the criteria is Olyroo eligibility, I'm currently most excited by Ikon, Brad Smith, Geria, Maclaren, Degenek, Amini, Deng, Irvine, De Niese, Elder, Pain, Ansell, De Silva, Gersbach, Galloway, Jimenez, Brimmer, Zaineddine, Armenakas, Antonis, Brillante, Makarounas, Good, Taggart, Tanner, Beadling, Ryan Williams, Murnane, Burgess, Gallifuoco, Borrello and of course Kenny Dougall.

Probably missing a bunch, but yeah, which one are we worried about being on the bench in one of the world's top ten legues?

Agree 100% the number of ELP players selected from the championship has dropped to single figures per year over the past few seasons as well. Its just a dead end league and I think the players are overpaid which is another problem. Far easier to progress ones career in Holland, Belgium, Turkey or a like. The massive money on the league as well in imo makes managers far less likely to take risks.

Come on people the guy was fucking useless in the A-League. People were busy comparing the A-League standard to other top league standards back when this happened. Can we just admit that this was an experiment that went horribly wrong
