"Choreographer-in-chief" was another one

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Surprised he was rated by so many on here.

Brilliante not playing because Festa is a fuck wit who doesn't know what his doing

Pssst psst, oi you come over here...

between you and I, Brillante isnt playing because he actually isnt very good.

It's o.k, you can keep the posters up

Just for an devil's advocate perspective, the lad last season was playing preseason first team football for Fiorentina last season and largely impressed but he was thrown under a bus against Roma in Serie A and got subbed and killed the lads confidence after that.

But the lad showed he has talent.

Just an perspective but there more too it than just talent but other factors like the language are crucial especially in places like Italy/Spain.

I don't get what people saw in him.... I can't think of a string attribute of his or any moment where I was ever impressed by him. TBH, I'm calling him to be the next Nick Ward.

Not too worried about Smith as he's basically 2nd choice LB. Moreno getting injured should see him come straight in plkus Liverpool have 4 competitions at the moment. He'll get game time.

Valencia down 1:0.

he had a very good U20 world cup IIRC. I remember saying in one of the threads during a game that some European team will come and get him.

That cup, Australia had a decent midfield and actually outplayed Colombia I think it was. He had a couple of great games and for his age group, he looked like he was a class above.

His first pre-season in Italy apparently was going great. Then it was his first game blunder, getting subbed off and now out of favour at a couple of teams.

If he finds a coach that likes him, he'll stay in Europe for a while.

The whole reason he was given the opportunity to even turn up at a well known Serie A side was off the back of a very, very good U20 world cup. That is well known and its the kind of luck a young footballer strives for.

But...

Whilst he had a decent pre-season with Fiorentina and Montella rolled the dice with him and his run of luck came to a crashing halt.

Subsequent loan period out at Empoli and now at Como he just hasnt done anything special to capture the Managers eye.

Makes me laugh how people make it appear like he is never given a chance when the coaching staff works with the fella everyday and he is given game time here and there.

The reality is Josh clearly hasnt done anything to warrant starts or extended periods of game time and whilst the aussie fanboys sulk and think they know better that is the opinion of 3 sets of coaching staff at 3 separate clubs.

Im with EG on this... to me he hardly stood out in the HAL but he got the break/luck but he's now been found out.

you discount all the politics and social bullshit involved in a continental Sports Club..the idea that the better player would always starting is just false

you show the 4 or 5th best club in Italy (Fiorentina) personal as a failure when they selected Brillante, but then want to project how smart (all knowing) the staff are when they don't play him

the only true measurement of Brillante ability can only come from actual game time, and not non selection from fuck wits who will not be in the job in 6 months time

Outside 1 game in the Under 20 WC, never thought he was anything. Looked average as hell in the HAL. Was shocked when he went abroad. Can find the posts from back then. Thought he might be capable of carving a career in the Serie B. Doesn't look like that at the moment..

Valencia's keeper saved a pen in a 1-1 draw... starting to think a loan deal for Ryan might be on the cards, especially assuming Alves will be back from injury soon.

The timing of Ryan's injury was really unfortunate.

Considering it was his first injury home or abroad and then cant get back into the team, i was surprised why they dropped him after he performed well in the 2 games he had after he came back from injury and the Neville's decide to drop him vs Barca for not much reasoning, very unlucky and now the other keeper has taken chance really well to make things worse.

Its very hard to crack the top teams for any aussie these days, once your there it becomes a bit of grind and a wee bit of luck would not hurt either.

tardtho! banging out the truth bombs!

brillante deserves better than what he is getting. when he was actually getting minutes he showed that he was not far off having a decent run in a decent team. I would love to see how far he has come in the last couple years.

italy seems like a very shit place for aussies trying to work their way in. i would not be heading over there unless you were fluent in italian and you could make them forget you were a foreigner.

he's only been getting starts over the last 2 months or so. the season started slowly and anyone with any sense would recognise that it was very touch and go as to whether he would get any substantial minutes at celtic. so lately, yes.

You’re scrambling mate…… badly.

You’re talking politics and social issues when you’re just taking a punt and guessing aren’t you.

THREE sets of coaching staff at THREE different clubs over the space of what nearly 2 years or so. He’s also had far greater time on the park and at training almost daily to prove himself than many before him (and likely better) have ever been given the opportunity.

How do I put this as it appears you’re finding it hard to understand.

If he was good enough…… he’d be playing.

At times sport, ANY sport, it is that f……… simple.
