I'd imagine that most players with any talent would be playing in the set up of a NSWPL club whether the club is in the area or not. As for relegated teams, those players will still be able to transfer. The main difference is that clubs will have to be much more selective in who they pick up. I'd say that a relegated team wont have more than a few players worthy of being picked up anyway. Plus, most teams will still have room to pick up a player or two every season as long as they dont load up on imports and have a few youngsters in the mix

Well that's the point. Limit the bargaining position of the players while also limiting the possibility of big bucks getting thrown around every season. The ultimate aim is to 'force' clubs to concentrate on the development side of the club
Time will tell whether it will actually work or not.

TBH i like the idea BWE 20s this year is made up of 16-18 year olds..... kid my cousin played with Nik came to the club to play u15s in 2012 and worked his way up in pre season to 20s and getting a few games for 1st Grade Bonnyrigg is a top youth club have good coaches etc and players but alot of the time the parents try to force the coach to select his kid on game day and when that fails leaves the club and complains to everybody, parents putting demands on the coaches etc [-x

I find all this NCR stuff amusing every state different rules. In Victoria the proposed Elite comp wont be having any form of promotion or relegation for 5 years or more.
And that goes for pretty much every league for 5 years. I always thought that the NCR Framework was to be followed by all the state federations. I honestly feel that this whole exercise will drive football back years.

but you're right, we've got nobody coming through and we've never been any good at producing talent. Did not at any stage say your club is no good at producing talent. I'll repeat what I said. My view on your club being competitive is based on your 18's/20's/first grade last season placements on the ladder. Inwhich all teams finished very low on the ladder to the point your club just missed relegation by a protest regarding your 20's I think. Otherwise your club would be in premier 2 this season. Get my drift. It's not that hard to figure out. If however your club has thrown in a few bucks to buy a few quality first graders then best of luck. As for the new points system, retaining youth gives clubs subtraction/low points of accumulation which will offset the higher points used by bringing in quality players. So in essence the retained youth will become nothing more than bench warming point deductions to offset incoming first graders. As players the youth will have no playing value. The new points system can work inadvertantly against youth at clubs that have no real interest in developing youth but concentrate purely on first grade club championship points. If you get the idea of what i'm saying then you will understand "how" the points system is easily circumvented. In a squad of 20 players you only need 12 to 14 quality first graders and you can bench 6 to 8 youth = reduced points. This of course will vary depending on the particular club and their main goals. Most if not all will purely focus on winning first grade until mid-season then re-evaluate the clubs ladder positions and overall CC points. 18's and 20's do not come into the equation unless the first grade side is performing poorly and club championship points from this age group becomes important to avoid the relegation zone. It is not unusual for clubs that are not in contention for 1st grade finals (low 1st grade CC points) to use first graders to chase 20's CC points prior to finals time which boosts overall club CC points. A late great Apia president who we shared a passion for football and fishing once told me that to catch 20kg of fish you have to be prepared to take fish of all sizes to make up 20kg's of fish. If you fish purely to catch 1 x 20kg fish you just may come home with nothing. This statement holds so true also in football with respect to club championships. BWE have open trials and the complain from the supporters is that very few Serbian kids are playing at the club but are at other Premier League clubs first grade and youth. I know most of the coaches at the club and believe me they would not have one bit of parent pissing in the ear attitude. Get away from the canteen granny trash talk and spend one weekend and watch all the grades play like I do, you will be better informed. Second the point system will not bring the crowds to the games, attractive football will, to have attractive football in Premier League clubs need money and pay players good wages, point system is a good idea for lower leagues, premier league should attract the best players in the state and develop them for the A-League, there are to many clubs in the NSW Premier league at the moment that only have Family based supporters (player parents, wife, girlfriends…), point system will ensure that this will be spread to all the clubs now. Last season I payed money to see other clubs play beside BWE because football was good. What will happen with this crap formula if too many top players are concentrated in one area and not so many good ones in others? Good players will not fined a club and give up football.

You misunderstood me dude
i know of relatives who have trialed etc thinking their kid is the best and when they get rejected the club is apparently corrupt.... i meant the parents get in the way instead of letting the kid develop
i know a few kids playing and i can fairly say their parents have lost it thinking their kid can play a-league but is sitting on bench at NSWPL level
trust me i know what parents talk garbage......

What will happen with this crap formula if too many top players are concentrated in one area and not so many good ones in others? Good players will not fined a club and give up football. I can confirm what No12 is saying is correct. I was at the BWE trials and the players they were culling down to were top quality players from lots of different nationality types. BWE culled based purely on quality they wanted to keep. This is why I am of the opinion BWE will be very competitive this season in 1st's and 20's. Cannot comment on their 18's and how the trials were conducted but if they selected the same way then BWE will be strong in 18's as well. I quite enjoyed watching the BWE trials because the quality of trialists were very high which meant good players could play good football. Which is what football should be about. Pure football with only the best on the park. It was the ONLY trial that didn't leave me scratching my head why some players were picked. Selections made appeared to be free of political baggage. I'm guessing BWE had something like around 200 plus trialing for 20's over 3-4 days. And for the record my lad trialled at BWE, made the last 22 ish on the night but did not get in and I agree 100% BWE selected the better players. Hats off and take a bow BWE. Excellent trials to watch. Best of luck for the season. Edited by aussiesrus: 15/1/2013 08:30:31 PM

Thats good to hear mate but i wasn't taking a dig at the players or club....
Im taking a dig against parents who talk shit to the coaches and to other people if their kid dosent get game time etc and in their eyes the kid is the next Pele
I knew a kid who was on the bench and i talked to him said im not the best in the team and he dosent mind but his old man and grandfather thought otherwise..... Kid has given up on the sport

any further updates on player movements? i see rudes is putting the broom through united's squad. quite a few local boys shown the door too such as vidaic and cindric. there may be a change in culture. hes also recruited a fair bit: mileski, triantis, perinich, van stratten, trifiro, one of the jap boys from blacktown, theres a couple of others. who else has news? will be interesting to see how they all go in the pre season cup.

T-Mac well and truly past his best, and doubt Sam K would be foolish to give him a contract.
Better of playing a junior for the fraction of the price.

Honestly can't see Terry McFlynn playing for United. He and Rudes are friends since they both played together at Sydney FC in the early days - they're probably just catching up for lunch. Having a laugh at Reddy. Couldn't get a gig in Iran, now back playing state league. He'll never get a gig in the A-League again.
WOLLONGONG WOLVES FOR A-LEAGUE EXPANSION!
