In all serious though it's good too see councils investing more in football. hey sutho fan, hows your squad shaping up? i see quyite a few young players coming into the team. the kids from marconi are impressive additions. To be honest I'm not too sure, seems like the new coach is going with a younger squad, not sure whether this is due to money restraints, lack of pulling power by the coach or our usually decent delevopment of kids coming through, either way I can't see us challenging for top spot.

I've heard of some big names signing on over there What happened to the rumour that they were folding the club? Or was that just opposition supporters gloating in the fact that they'd dropped out of the top division? :-k No idea. Maybe there have been changes in the Board at the social club? Improvement in their finances? Maybe the response they got to the relegation was stronger than they expected? Hard to say. Either way, I've heard all the names Macedonia mentioned + Travis Major.

We're training there a lot more, and we'll probably end up training there more in the future as our tenure with Macquarie Uni looks to be up soon. I also know the youth team and womens play there semi-regularly.

Yeah I assume WSW would just play at Blacktown Football Park and share with Spartans considering the team base is across the road.

Huge news for the NPL2, if Marconi were already going to be tough competition next year, then they have just taken it to another level

Sounds about right, if not more. They'll probably have a few blokes on that coin and then the rest, about 15 or so, on a few hundred a week

FMD. They couldn't just pay that while they were in the NPL1? Had to wait for relegation??

Only difference is this is part time, only 22 weeks worth on that, HAL players are paid all year round. Not bad coin if you can get it, work full time and an extra 50K on top of that.

Not bad coin if you can get it, work full time and an extra 50K on top of that. 22 x 2.5k p.w. = 55k a year A League minimum wage AFAIK is around 50k So these semi-pros are getting paid more than full time "pros"?

That's supposedly Marconi, doesn't reflect the rest of NPL2 or even NPL1. The highest rumoured weekly wage i've heard in NPL1 is around 2K a week. There's quite a few between the 1K and 1.5K a week. But the vast majority would be well under 500 a week.

Quote:2016 Squad Announcement Rockdale City Suns FC are proud to announce that we have bolstered our squad for the 2016 season with the signing of 3 new players - Tolgay Ozbey, Alex Canak and Peter Makrillos. Tolgay joins Rockdale after spending the last few weeks of the 2015 season at Sydney Olympic, hampered by injury. Tolgay's last full season in the NSW Premier League resulted in a record goal haul of 23 goals in 20 matches for Blacktown City, before the striker moved to India. In India, Tolgay scored 60 goals 104 games over 5 seasons, making him one of the most consistent and prolific marksmen in the league. Alex Canak joins Rockdale after spending 6 seasons at Bonnyrigg, winning numerous titles along the way. He will add another experience attacking element to our squad, which includes a number of young strike weapons. Peter Makrillos joins Rockdale from the Stoke City Academy, where Peter has resided since 2012. Peter joined the English Premier League outfit as a 16 year old, and the creative attacker returns to Australia looking to make his mark in our league, and will no doubt impress those keeping a watchful eye in the A-League and abroad. The 3 new signings will join the remainder of the Rockdale Squad, returning to chase glory in 2016 at the Ilinden Sports Centre: Paul Reid (Player Coach) Daniel Petkovski Dylan Macallister Alec Urosevski Toufic Alameddine Hristijan Tanoski Alex Lekoski Idriss El Hafiane David Dascal Steven Hesketh Patrick Savor Isaac Savor (Promoted from 20s) Nicholas Petrillo Stefan Dubocanin (Promoted from 20s) David Bradasevic *Tolgay Ozbey *Alex Canak *Peter Makrillos https://www.facebook.com/Rockdale-City-Suns-Football-Club-Ilinden-114670798600300/?fref=nf
