6600 per game, by my estimation. That includes many free tickets, and Heart club officials scanning in unused tickets after the game (this has been witnessed at AAMI).

chris wrote:Melbourne should have 3 teams atleast -
I disagree with the statement that Melbourne Heart need to average 15k fans to consider having a 3rd team due to the pace of their development Chris, I like you actually agree. And i don't believe that 15k is the threshold before it should become a real discussion. But it is about 10k minus the derbies. If we continue growing at the rate we are at now, it should take about 7-10 years. But i personally believe that it would only take 1 year if we had a Major Premiership or a Grand Final win and then the attendance would stay that way even if we have a shit season like we're having now.

I don't think this thread would be more than 10 pages if the Heart were buzzing.....nor would the title have been such an issue to some of the guys
i am not talking about football performance either but rather the model
perhaps you should change the title to 41203=MHFC in. There is no other game in the country that can get this crow for a league match if heart weren't in the league.          Considering the fact it's not even the highest attended regular season match, I don't know how you can make a comment like that. The melbourne derbies currently hold the 2 highest attendances, this season and if heart didn't exist the highest attendance would probably be 36k at the first adp game and thats a simple fact. The only game that would've got 42k or above would be if MVvSFC were at Etihad, but that would only be because of ADP and that isn't reliable as he might onl stay one more year tops. The Melbourne Derby is reliable to get 40k now

It would've been exactly the same if SXFC was the second Melbourne Team (although they may have had more regular fans).

Yes, but that has nothing to do with MH. It's undeniable. Melbourne went down from season 2 to 5 by 5% and Melbourne has gone up 41% since Heart joined. Do you think MV would be averaging ~31k now if Heart weren't in the League?

Yes You do know that 7 games would be at aami park where at best would average 24k at over the 7 games as the small games would go here. you would then been to average about 40k. I reckon you're trolling, cause otherwise you're full of shit.

They weren't gonna put SXFC in as they just built this new stadium that the aleague wanted to play a lot of matches in so it would've jet been then same as what we have now except with a different name and different strip.

It wouldn't take long for another team to generate a similar rivalry - the evidence is what happened with your very own team.
I daresay a new rival would be smarter and actually market itself as different to Victory in meaningful ways, not just ephemeral catch-cries of "different coach", "no Muscat", false "youth policy", "European football", "red not blue". THIS

I am not suggesting Heart get turfed out, but they need to acknowledge what was said above and change their club model, in order to draw more support from the large Melbourne market.

Heart aren't going to be getting turfed, would say that they are quite safe. Look to be breaking even for this season and FFA covering the cap will make the Heart's financial situation even better. Hopefully they are able to get their act together and bring more people to their games. Would think that next season, Heart would be making a big push to get more people through the gates.
