In the past two years as two evil sides in Syria have been killing civilians by the truckload you were silent. When Saddam was gassing Kurds you were silent. When the Iranian regime was killing civilans on the streets you were silent. When Iran, Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia execute people for "adultery" you're silent. When Al Qaida was massacring civilians in Mali - not a peep from you. Not the least bit of concern for the brown people.

But when the Muslims kill innocent civilians in Boston you try and come over all concerned for the brown people.

Who are you kidding?

Seriously why the fuck do people always have to get on their fucking high horse and gallop around saying 'oh but look at this one this is worse therefore im a better human than you.' Yes theyre both tragedies. Yes the picture of 'suspect 1' was disgusting and yes there are probably worse pictures but I find it absolutely appalling how people trivialise death and tragedy.

Both are sad and terrible and one is not worse than the other because in both cases people died and were injured. Its not some game whereby you can elevate yourself and get your kick out of believing you are superior for caring about a different cause.

Of course the media would focus on what happens in America, its only logical reporting to cater to the demographic. Ignoring how close we are to American culture, so many more people would either have family or have travelled to America than Syria. This means that people will emphasise more the events in America as they are more real to them. It only makes sense then that the media would focus on something that people are more interested it.

Does that make the media bad people? No. Does that make the American tragedy worse than whats happening in Syria? No, they are both too horrific to quantify.
