After returning from the World Cup Qualifiers with the Socceroos, I asked the club how our membership sales are going. After just 5 weeks on sale, we have sold 2,500 memberships. This is up on the same point last season. We want to keep this trend continuing. I was also excited to learn a couple of other big announcements about the membership campaign. The club has allowed me to share these announcements with you.

The first exciting point was the club’s target for the number of memberships this season. Our aim this season is to reach 10,000 members! We know this is ambitious but we know it’s achievable. We also know that we can’t do it without you. This brings me to the second point. If we reach our target of 10,000 members, the club will give one lucky member $10,000! What an incentive to join! Imagine what you could do with $10,000! Maybe you can join the Socceroos in Brazil next year.

To reach our target, we need your help. Sign up as an Adelaide United member today and join us in our goal to be one of the best supported clubs in the A-League. If you have already joined, we thank you. But you can assist us further by encouraging your friends and family to join too. The more people you get to join, the better chance we have of reaching 10,000 members, which will give you a chance to win the $10,000.

From a personal point of view, as players, we want nothing more than to step out on the pitch in front of a packed house every match. The thought of having 10,000 members is an exciting prospect and we would love to see it happen.

Some of the players heard that Cassio has helped the club’s membership sales by giving away a signed ball to the 1,000th member. We liked this idea and we want to get on board to help the club reach its target of 10,000 members. With over 3 months before the start of the season we want to push the memberships so that we can reach our target. As an incentive, I will give away a pair of my gloves personally signed to one lucky member if we can sell another 1,000 memberships by the end of next week.
